yup jiminy opened today. the closest mountain to me, the place i skiied my last two days of lift-served...and while only a few miles inside MA...a no-go!
came to really appreciated the place last couple of seasons - hit a pow nite before the groomers could wreck it...and some spring temp winter days that got me dialed in for tougher terrain...
as VT looked a less and less likely option over past months, i was thankful for the berkshires. turned out i was dreaming.
but the snow will come and in-state skiing will be all the rage
can't wait.
+1 on mtbiker's words above.

Massachusetts Travel Restrictions: Vermont Removed From Exempt List
msn.com - 4 hours ago
BOSTON (CBS) — Vermont is no longer considered a “COVID lower-risk state” by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. Beginning Saturday, Massachusetts will require people traveling from Vermont to fill out a travel form and then quarantine for 14 days upon arrival in the state.
States qualify as lower-risk when their daily cases per 100,000 are below 10 and the positive test rate below 5%, both measured as a 7-day rolling average.
The only state remaining on the travel order exempt list is Hawaii, which has been deemed as lower-risk.
Outside of Hawaii, anyone coming into Massachusetts from a different state needs to fill out a travel form and quarantine or provide a negative COVID-19 test from within 72 hours of your arrival. Failure to comply could result in a fine up to $500.

so not worth it right now, even without the penalties.
Also not a good call if you're trying to avoid catching the 'vid. Its thick in the air up here. Tremblant attracts tons of people from Montreal and Ottawa and more. I would say you're really increasing your risk of exposure by going there.27° 18°

^^^ them's some lovely tomatoes!
even more to the point, canada has kept the border to its largest trading partner, bff nation closed for a good reason. to keep the 'vid OUT. it i'm guessing most canadians know by now how to appeal to those who won't stay out ;0]
we are #1 in all the wrong ways in that respect.
be safe everybody,

bob report. bushterra™ has coverage t2b currently, new inch mid2top and a bit of mixed falling now after rain from 5 am wakeup until 1ish, not really anything I was interested in skiing today in the rain. Fo-cast for Monday/Tuesday looks like ass, again, not interested.
Surprising number of weekend seasonal folks around this weekend. Maybe they're here for the long haul and sheltering for Thursdays opening.
I think part of the border closing is Quebecs desire to clear out teh Anglophones from its midst.

Absolutely no one is following Vt Guidance so why should I suffer?! Alterra has tossed in the towel & I had a camp scheduled to run in Tremblant in March that I could not get to & lost all my lodging..., figure if everyone’s ethos are shit, I’m done plugging the dyke.

Bromley got a frosting this afternoon (observed from a distance); east side trails looked somewhat covered about 2/3 of the way down.
Made an epic reservation at Mt. Snow tomorrow. Last I looked, Freefall on the North Face was open. I'll do 10 laps and then get the fuck outta there. If anybody else is going, PM me.
