In 'merica I refer to that as "standing around"

21º and windy as fuck bob. Seems to be 3-4+ inches so far, tough to tell with the wind. Drifts 12" already. Funny it's going to be 60º on Friday, lol.

I did go down to the ski area, but irrational ACL-threatening impulses of early season exuberance were successfully subdued.

And they would have been really irrational.

Getting excited. Where I sit at at my desk i'm looking directly at one of the rasta glades all day. Even with all the amazing MTB, I still havent been able to not get excited all summer.

Now I just need some new skis...

Governor comes out with resort guidance tomorrow for Vermont. He is expected to announce that out of state workers will not be considered essential and must complete the entire quarantine i.e. no weekend workers from red states.

Sure sucks for some, but there is no way a weekend ski area employee should be considered essential. I imagine a full time employee from a border town will still be eligible to work. Either way since our State relies on the good will of people and proposes things that have zero ramifications if broken I doubt ski areas will adhere. .

Even if they don't take action against individuals ignoring the guidelines, they may have an impact on businesses. Among other issues, businesses generally have more responsibility for their employees' behavior than their customers'.

He’s a master & one that I trust with my skis. I’m certain we can get him a local house for the season.

Touring and earning turns is going to be fantastic this winter -

That for sure throws a wrench in the works for me. Gonna be a fucked up season. Looking forward to the coming warm up. I’ll just keep riding my bikes and collecting unemployment. Maybe I’ll see y’all at some point this winter.
