This guy qualifies as "douchebag", had patrol out in three counties looking for him because he had no signal when he bedded down for the night.

    vtstatepolice.blogspot.com/2021/01/news-release-shaftsbury-barracksoverduel

    SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

On January 21st, 2021 at approximately 7:30 pm the Vermont State Police Shaftsbury Barracks received a call concerning an overdue hiker. It was reported by family members the hiker was alone and had driven to the Peru area from Massachusetts earlier in the day. He failed to make contact with his family after it became dark and they were concerned for his welfare. Extensive efforts to locate the hiker were completed. The search included several agencies to include Winhall PD, Manchester PD, and Troopers in Bennington, Rutland, and Addison counties. Troopers located the missing hiker safe on January 22nd, 2021 at approximately 1130 hours. He was found in his vehicle in the area of VT RT 125 and VT RT 100 in Hancock VT. The hiker was unable to contact his family due to phone service issues. It was determined he was in no danger or lost at any point.

Sun Mountain definitely in the sweet spot. We got skunked with only about an inch today. Can't complain though, skiing with the Jedi family was fun and the hill was quieter than the past two days as well.
A band of snow has dropped 1 3/8" since 6 so far tonight.

Man, this guy should be prosecuted for breaking VT guidelines and if he doesn’t quarantine breaking MA guidelines. Although we all feel his pain VT has shitty cell reception.

Fun to catch up with cat at the Recovering Maine Mag Gimp meeting at BMOM. cat’s knee looks fine to me as we took a couple groomer runs together. Can’t wait to go back at high tide and get into the glades he worked on and knows well. If/when it is in, it looks tasty... glades for days!

My daughter and I each got our $15 worth from BMOM... best deal in skiing I believe. I even appreciated their effort of putting up B-netting trail side to keep me contained and safe if things went awry!

Listened to The Police, the Talking Heads, early R.E.M., Nirvana, and some Courtney Barnett in the truck... talked clueless boys/catty girls, music, politics, and even God (“Dad, there’s NO WAY some imaginary guy can make everything ok! We need to do that for ourselves.”) Priceless dad/daughter day! Stoked!

The town of Rumford, however, is still a shithole.

Bolton Wed night. My son skied till 10:00 and said it was a blast.

BTW First time I’ve seen other mags hitting stratton regularly. If you are around look for me or hit me up. Today it’s ON3P Jeronimos, orange jacket, black pants. Totally average skier but try hard to make stratton fun.

Stratton is personally cursed for me; every time I go there something bad happens. I lacerated my leg after a fall there a few years ago and ended up in the hospital, another time we had to drag a guy out of a culvert after he tomahawked past a "slow down" sign and years ago we were trapped on a lift for an hour with brutal wind chill. It was awful and I recall getting a free hot chocolate for the trouble.

Can't say the skiing is bad but the ski gods want me to stay away.

Dipshits won't even listen to the Ranger, wtf?

Shortly after shooting this video earlier in the day, I suggested to these two skiers, who did not have beacons, shovels or probes, that they ski the lower angled slope between Right Gully and LC or the lower section of Left, if they skied anything at all. They later told me that the excitement of new snow drove them to the top and into the upper start zone where the incident then unfolded.

7º [seven] bob with a breeze that finally cleared the weeks snow from the trees. Partly sunny with 3" of fresh blower awaiting the weekend crowd.

I think we made the executive decision that the hot chocolate would be free.

That dude was so banged up, he didnt know how he got to stratton or what ski area he was even at. Hope he came through....

Monday through Friday Stratton is some of the best skiing around. There is no other mtn in Vermont that can compete with those lifts. I don’t ride the gondi ever. Those 6 packs crank.

That being said. Zero chance you will catch me there on a holiday period or a weekend between now and Presidents’ Day.

You need an uphill pass. Free with season pass, I think $20 otherwise? Several designated routes. Lots of takers. To my knowledge they don't have designated hours and I have skinned pre, post and during hours.

isn't that why most prefer to taker their own car to the mtn?

reminds me of the guy that left his dog on the mountain in CO years back
