Beauty (but cold) day up north today
Cold kept the crowds home though.
Can’t believe those two guys had no avy gear goin up there. Dude1 got real lucky.
Dummies gonna be dum I guess
Translation:
“Offer: lift to tremblant this Sunday. Leaving from iberville station (that’s in Montreal)”
Totally fine to give two hour car bumps to strangers coming out of a metro station from the epicentre of a pandemic during a pandemic.
The level of dum on the various backcountry in Quebec fb pages is amazing.27° 18°

First day in the BC today.
Practiced social distancing on the up.
Near the top was a real winter wonderland
Peruvian will know where from this view.
The schmoo that fell last Saturday made the first 300-400 vert tough because all of the Beech bushes were totally intertwined and stuck into the ground. Once we navigated through that it was phenomenal. So much snow from the upslope/lake-enhanced that slatham noted.

As a snowboarder, it still warms my cold knuckledragging heart to see both Spatulas and Bros in the last couple pages.

It's not a ton of terrain, but it can be a blast (IMO).
My knowledge is a bit historical now, but crowds were rarely a thing back then, excepting those associated with the weekly park series and the weekly beer league. The skiing absolutely can be worth it; one of the days that sticks out in my mind from the first year I lived on-mountain was, IIRC, Christmas week (heck, may have been Christmas day); I worked for most of the day, got out after dinner, and was lapping fresh snow with damn few people around for a while.
Some folks bring headlamps and don't stick to the lit-up stuff; I don't know what the current level of tolerance for that is. Back in the day, it was heavily dependent on who caught you and how blatant you were being.
I do know that they've posted several times on social media about being sold out of night tickets, so either it's gotten a lot more popular, or they've actually chosen a responsible and conservative ticket-cap number.

4º bob -8º summit clear and breezy. Lost power for a bit last night and was awoken at 6:11 by the roar of the wind.
Current winholds at south require hiking/skinning to heavens gate, that I can see spinning, to ride a chair. Or the rock at 9. lol
* Super Bravo, Gate House, Valley House, North Ridge, and Summit are on wind hold. *
Status update for Sun, Jan 24

East Coast Roll Call #??? 20-21 Covid closures and hard core touring! Be Fit or Sit
Just a guess but it might have something to do with COVID. Simply glad any of the lifts are spinning, quite frankly.

Three dog night and bluebird day out there.
Three phreakin phreeheelers in the northern Greens.
Found the path to enlightenment.
Non-mag RG was trip leader.
Doremite gettin down to that Funky reggae sound.
Phone battery nearly died after the first
lap, so it stayed in my pocket for the remainder.
Don’t let a crowded parking lot dissuade you. Just go further.

^Great day, G. Thanks again for including me. Got in a little reggae. Thankfully the roots and rocks were buried. Cold but a beauty.
