Met up with my non-Mag buddy, Pipes. He provides daffy stoke.
I decided to keep it more planted on the ground.

You busted out of the start house and out onto the narrow nose of the knoll, always a gate right on the top drilled seemingly into dirt.

Nice Aldo. My kid is working there this year. Me and his little brother were over last Sunday. Skiing is fun.

Wednesday nights wind scoured the groomers of fluff overnight and continued to blow causing closure of HG & Summit yesterday. Some scraps around and sunny skies were on offer.

Clouded up late afternoon and a mist of snow started at 5:30. Unfortunately we got fucked out of the 1-3 forecasted snow with only <1/8" this morning. Currently 5º and breezy bob.

Yes, I certainly miss my Western ski trip this year and I do love powder as much as the next person, but not enjoying groomer skiing when you live in New England is like not enjoying foreplay.

My friends always referred to the cabriolet at The Canyons as 'the teacups' so you aren't too far off.

Memories of VV/GG. Before getting my own gear, the Atmic rentals there with edges almost as sharp as a dull butter knife, skiing on ice with no snow to get an edge to scrub speed, and 30-45 minute weekend lift lines to ski a trail that took a minute or so to get down. Don't forget the obstacle course of fallen bodies because most of the skiers were newbs combined with the reasons above.

Also remember driving to the hill and we ran out of rolling papers so we stopped at a 7-11 to pick some up and they only had strawberry papers. My buddy and i are bitching and then drop the last J off the lift. We were able to find it because it was pink, if it was regular papers we would never have found it. Ahh, so that's why they only sell strawberry papers. This was back when weed was about 1/20th as potent as nowadays.

That's classic! Amazing how so many ec'ers starting out skiing ice on railed or completely dull rentals ever went back for a second time. The mindset of being outside, smoking weed, drinking beers, and just general debauchery of going fast and wiping out was way more fun than sitting on the couch listening to zeppelin all winter.
