Castle and fernie snow reports are looking pretty good right now.

Looks like that storm warning for louise never materialized?

Solid day at Fenie today, the snow was a bit denser and had that surfy feel. Not much opened today, I heard there was a big natural slide in Lizard bowl.

Also, lots of red plates here, I don’t think anyone cares.

Top 5 Day at Kimbo. Well worth the 20-minute hike/skin.

Once the ridiculousness of holiday crowds (still?) and a broken down base lift were sorted Marmot skied really well. 29cms of fresh and knee deep shots if you knew where to go.

    Fernie

Largest slide seen in ten years, mid-lower lizard. Great skiing this morning/afternoon. Lots and lots of bombs went off after closing. Should be another solid day of turns up there tomorrow, with, hopefully, less people.

    Did currie open?

I was kind of leaning towards castle due to wind refresh but I'm questioning that.

Don't think so. I skied until just after 2 and as far as I know it had not by that point, but I was over on the old side in the afternoon. They, like I said, were dropping bombs like crazy after closing. My feeling is that they will crack the hill wide open in the am depending on snowfall this evening. Could be Currie/Lizard/Snake tomorrow...

Looks like a great day! Though, it looks like they haven't installed the moguls quite yet.

Quick question. Eating and drinking in line. Is it allowed at your resort? I mean doing reasonably responsibly , drink / eat then mask up, not an excuse to go through the whole line with mask on chin. KH has clarified not allowed. Sure I guess that slightly safer esp if not the full 2m in line but not a hill to die on for me.

The Lake wouldn't allow that. Mask has to be right up over your nose in lift lines. Why not just eat on the chair when you are with just your cohort and not surrounded by strangers? That's what I've been doing. Or have they been loading the gondy with multiple cohorts at KH?

No just single cohorts which usually means just 2 people as most people cohort is just 2. So lift lines are long as gondi capacity running about 30%.

Castle is it's normal self... slabby-grabby wind sift (but still manageable) in many areas and gorgeous turns where it's a little more sheltered.

Which is to say it's good!

Everything at FAR opened yesterday. Curry, Lizard, and Cedar Bowl (Snake Ridge). Great skiing everywhere, like the pervious day the snow was a bit denser, but had that smooth/sufry feel to it. I thought the snow in Snake Ridge was a little lighter. Another 20cm fell last night, sadly I have to work today

No such luck with crowds here, Vancouver university’s aren’t going back for another week yet.

Another 5cms of fluff to add to yesterdays 5. Starting to run out of room for snow piles in the village.

Excellent skiing in Fernie today. Fresh tracks all day if you knew where to look, actually, even if you didn't know where to look there were fresh tracks. Snowed up top all day, rain in town. Tomorrow should be good to go.

Been taking advantage of a favourable snowpack in Kananaskis for the past few weeks putting in some more committing lines, but it looks like the buried windslabs are waking up again adding a solid dose of conservatism to decision making.

As an aside, I've always thought Kimberley would be so much fun on a powder day without bulletproof moguls and looks like I may have missed my opportunity...

They were originally allowing eating and drinking in line, but there were a lot of complaints due to asshats holding a coffee as an excuse not to have their mask up.

They have also asked patrol to walk the line to make sure masks are up. Not just a lifty job now.
    I like huge dumps.
