In case anyone is looking. No affiliation. Looks like a super forward mount so probably plenty of room for a remount.

White way hasn't been done, not enough ice for the tractor as of last week. I'm sure someone has shovelled the rinks off.

Lake Lillian has a rink cleared and the xc ski track is set. Cvcs has groomed 5km of fat bike trails too.

Great day at the Lake for the noon-4pm crowd. Lots of pow if you know where it hides! Not much for crowds or lineups. Maybe these reservations have some sort of weird positives we couldn't see.....

Did you reserve an afternoon or just show up and get a ticket?

I'm just curious how the afternoon ski concept is working these days.

I’ve got a seasons pass and I’ve reserved the day in advance. Show up whatever time I want. I’ve found driving from cgy it’s better to ski around noon-1pm to 4pm. Roads r better, parking is front row, line ups are smaller. Rattle off a bunch of hot laps and get strong.

Makes sense... book the day even if you're doing the afternoon.

do you know what normal year numbers are? either total visitors, or the number of passes vs tickets?

I know 2000 visits in a day was a good number, the rest I don't know.

Gondi was down most of the morning at Louise. That made for some fun lines at Glacier and Topo,

On big days, memory is froggy, but I think 4500 is big.

    more snow this weekend?

    https://weather.gc.ca/warnings/report_e.html?ab27

" Highway 93 - Lake Louise to Saskatchewan River Crossing

A push of Pacific moisture will bring heavy snowfall into the Mountain Parks this weekend. Highway 93 extending from Bow Summit to Sunwapta Pass will receive the brunt of the snow. The heaviest snowfall will start on Saturday morning and end Sunday evening. Total accumulations will be from 30 to 50 cm. Gusty westerly winds across the area will also cause near zero visibilities in blowing snow.

At this time there is still some uncertainty about the timing and extent of the snowfall. It is likely that this watch will be upgraded to a warning once those details become clearer.

Avoid travel if possible. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery.

Winter storm watches are issued when multiple types of severe winter weather are expected to occur together.
    "

in short: we are guessing at best.

Quad chair from Kimberley base is broken down for at least a week. But they’re going to run the other chairs for people willing to hike /skin the 20 minutes to get to the backside.

Based on the current social media whining from locals, there should be untracked runs for days with the snow falling right now.

I especially love the people who are complaining because there isn’t another lift sitting around to be used in case the quad breaks down. Guess Sunshine better get on the ball and install a backup Gondola....

I wouldn’t be concerned about red plates. BC Is full of them and nobody really cares but the media.

I read they were discounting tickets, didn't check the price. They were offering season pass holders use of their pass at the other RCR resorts while the lift is down.
