Yeah, fair enough... I can't really argue with that.

No more Louise Card sales, and some stronger language re: masks.

I'm reading between the lines here but I can't see any reason that pass processing and louise card direct to lift registration isn't operating for the weekend other than 1 or more people who work at guest services have gone home sick and are waiting for a test result.

I doubt they would be upfront about that.

On the plus side I'm pleased with the strong language on masks. I hope there's enforcement as well.

Massive difference at Louise today. Multiple staff members at the entrance to every lift corral enforcing masks in addition to the lifties. Lots of of staff posted in all other areas where people were likely to congregate doing the same.

Summit was open, backside was skiing well but windy and cold with poor vis. Frontside very firm underneath the fresh dusting.

On the down side though - it’s the busiest weekend we’ve had in weeks at the hotel. I can only assume everyone rushed to Banff for a final weekend away Before a possible lockdown. Which kind of misses the fucking point given the current spike in cases.

SSV has NOT been known as a great employer over the years. a LOT of the staff just got fired without a legal fuss.

actually SSV is just not great to staff, parks, pass holders, etc. Its a strange bubble of nepotism

Basically what was posted below with some talk about hiring security. I'm glad to hear things were being tightly enforced today.

I don't think the lack of pass pick up was necessarily because of sick staff. I thought it was more because they saw how insane the line was on Wednesday for passes and tickets and were afraid of how much worse it would be on a weekend. Urging people to pick up in Banff or Calgary seems like a good alternative.

Yeah your whining and complaining worked. They are on every ones cases every where at louise. Whole base area. Makes a lot of sense in the wide open outside. .

Back to skiing... Coverage is actually pretty good. Punters making it down outerlimits reasonably well. World cup run is not pure ice and one can actually hold an edge on it with normal skis.
    Gully is skiing well.

    Good. You're welcome.

Crowded lift lines are not "wide open".

What's the matter with just pulling your face covering up for a few minutes? Are you really put out all that much?

Just a case of "But I don't wanna... wah..."?

Like craw says, the data I have seen (being a critical care worker and looking at evidence often) would suggest we would all be better off returning to basic public health principles. Stay home and away from people if you have a sniffle, sore throat, cough etc. Wash your hands (count to your self, when is the last time you scrubbed vigorously with soap and water for 2 minutes), after you sneeze or cough in to your mask do you change it? Do you change to a new one every 2 hours max? Watch people..... Everyone wearing a mask constantly readjusts it non stop. Do they sanitizer their hands in between? Masks are the feel good story of 2020 and I have yet to see anything that convinces me other wise. Especially outside. End rant. There are plenty of threads threads to cunt up on here regarding this already.

That being said. Louise is skiing well despite my tears and yes I will continue to wear my outdoor mask and continue to ski by the half dozen I've already seen littered on the hill.

I agree that outside a mask is really not needed. Bike park line ups every day with 100's of people standing side by side and no cases from any resort.

I don't agree with the logic being used in the last few posts, and I know I started it, but I don't want to get into it anymore here so I vote we bury it.

Yep. There were even a few passes pulled for refusing to wear a face covering.

That's a law suit waiting to happen. Medical condition is a loose term these days.
