We opened today with about 110 new. Hardest thing was trying to find terrain steep enough. Common when we get really big dumps.
    edit this morning:
"terrain steep enough that wouldn't kill you or take hours of breaking trail to get to" I should have said. And, it was only advertised as 101cm new yesterday.

Holy shit, Castle was amazing today!

Report in the AM said about 20cm overnight and 40cm in 48 hours. Not only was it very deep but the snow had a little bit of density to it making turns extremely gratifying!

The line at red was slow compared to a normal mid-week powder day ar castle, but not bad at all. I never timed it but maybe 10 minutes maximum wait... probably less.

Blue chair line was a couple of minutes or less.

I'm really interested in their Cat skiing (I've never been to Castle). How is Castle cat skiing on weeks with no snow fall? I'm thinking of heading down there for a day of cat skiing, but there isn't any snow forecasted for a while. Will there be enough snow to justify the price (~$400)?

4cm at LL skied a LOT deeper. Like a few laps on WH2, with 1/2 the turns face shots..

Stop falling on every other turn! But yes, the blown in areas were quite nice.

    Warm and windy.

Sled shuttle laps for me today, sun poked out so hit the glacier until the clouds came back. Very good.

    Today the backside was great.

Frontside was so-so up top, getting worse the further down you got. A few CMs of heavy fresh on refrozen crud. Groomers weren't bad, lowest meadowlark just wasn't fun.

Cheers guys - managed to get out today, glad the backside is still skiing great but all the refrozen bumps and crud in the west bowl exit made for a hell of a ride.

Fingers crossed that warm snap was only temporary!

I thought louise was pretty terrible yesterday. Powdery moguls on top of ice.. A few pow stashes here and there but of the dust on crust variety. Wh1, 2 were dust on crustish, er3 has fucking moguls on the top half.
Wasn't the best day of the year November was better haha

    I wasn't at either,

    saturday is busier than sunday

SSV gondola is the pinch point, arrive in parking lot 8am or 12:00

LL loads lifts at 8:30 on weekends, arrive parking lot at 8-8:15, go to backside. when that feels full, go to early lunch or frontside between 11:30-12:30.

The lines were nuts all day Sat and Sunday at LL... Paradise was brutal too. Gondola line was ~ 45 min @ 1:30 pm on Sunday (had to take it back up coming out of West Bowl). I've never seen lift lines that bad.
