I would be really interested to hear what other coachy racey types have to say on that tucking weight distribution topic.

    And more topix:
I am really really enjoying watching new straight-ski gs...those old power moves are back in...the big upweights, the big steering pivots, the driving carves. Tomba Girardelli stuff. I love it!

Agree, there is wild factor back in play as opposed to who can carve the fastest turn

Fun vid from last year while you're waiting for the second downhill.

Course inspection with Aksel starts at 7:26.

What's the word on why they cancelled this race after 30 skiers?

    Wind was culprit, right?

Yes the wind was really strong. It was also a tail wind, the last few guys down the course we almost landing on the flats on the last jump.
The race would not be official if they did not run 30 racers, so they pushed the limits and ran a few more racers to get to 30, and then called it quits.

And a lot classier than getting drunk and swinging your dingus around in the window.

But does he get two gondola cars this summer?

    What an interesting anomaly...
A bunch of those guys got 6 runs on the streif. That’s some valuable experience.

Was it a Wegen* race or a Kitzbuehel race?
I know where the race was, but the record books will say differently.

Yeah, that Urs wreck in particular was, like, grotesque lucky to be alive stuff.

I watch most wrecks again to kinda see what happened. That was one of those you don’t want to see again.

Looks like a Kitz trophy to me.

Just realized, isn’t Feuz now among rare air having won all three classics? Nobody’s pulled that off on a while, eh? He won Garmisch a couple years ago.

Julien Lizeroux retired at the slalom race today after 20 years on the circuit and had a cool send off vid on the Twitter: https://twitter.com/julienlizeroux/s...649079296?s=21

Perhaps I could have said, BARRING INJURY, there's no way Goggia doesn't win the DH globe.

You definitely needed an anti-jinx for that one. So bummed about gorges injury. Compound fracture of tibial plateau while skiing down the mountain after SG was canceled. Fluke injuries suck. Positive vibes sent her way. And good luck to Breezy

    This season has been crazy.

Men's Slalom has been bonkers. The second run 30 - > 1 has thrown a monkey wrench in everything. Courses breaking down, whether ruts or getting chippy. Not super tech slopes but some interesting sets.
