Google news links to all sorts of different sources so I'll read what just about anyone has to say, even Fox but I hesitate to click on them and some others because they don't deserve the revenue generated form the click. I guess I shouldn't have responded so quickly because in reality I read many sources mostly because I don't trust any one source to be honest and real.

    What Bob said.

If you're signed in, google's algos will feed you more of what you want to see based on your clicks and lingers, so your feed will become tuned to your personal biases (or rage fests) over time. Obviously, same goes for all social.

That said, I read GN every morning too.

Dunno what the alternative to RT would be, but if you want really want to hear from a Russian mouthpiece, might as well just read Pravda and get your browser to translate it.

Usually I scan headlines on GoogleNews and follow links from there to get a more diversified sample. I've made an effort not to hide certain outlets that tend to infuriate me in order to stay out of a bubble.

The bulk of my reading ends up coming from the NYT, WAPO, Politico, 538 (not a news outlet per se), WSJ (fook their paywalls), the Hill (kinda stuffy), and NPR. Hard to find gently R-leaning outlets these days, it's blood-red or nothing, so my diet is thinner on that side of isle.
The Atlantic is a must for long form digested stuff, along with podcasts which come out on a weekly or so basis and don't feel like pure roller-coaster reaction rides.

I still keep an eye on a French newspaper (le Monde), partially to know what's up with the homeland, and partially to see how they frame the crazy we live through over here and to make it easier to talk about it with my family across the pond.

I forgot to add BBC. Nothing better than driving in a remote area and getting BBC on an NPR station...Owen Bennett-Jones politely nailing a smarmy govt spokesperson to the wall with his questions. A nice antidote to our useless Wolf Blitzer or, god forbid, Hannity.

Yeah. Never heard Infowars referred to as "mainstream." Must be a joke.
