I don’t know but that’s a huge fish. And they say it’s not the biggest trout in VT history. This is why I always wonder what kind of monster is cruising around under my ass when I’m out paddling.

    Wouldn’t “record trout” suggest otherwise?

Quote from the article: “While the fish isn't the largest fish of its kind caught in the state, it is the largest lake trout caught in Lake Champlain.” I took that to mean that larger lake trout have been caught in VT- just in other lakes.

It's a laker in fit condition..y/n? I mean for the size it's really not that heavy..like many of the lakers taken in Moosehead through the decades(Ha, showin' my age)....but obviously a really nice laker...but
when one starts talkin' about Canada's big lakers from Great Bear and Great Slave....this one's just a teen, but up until 2000s the old' n' slow past Maine IF&W....consistently stocked the da*n things in the lakes....only to feed on the juvenile brooktrout. Thank God they've turned the page...opting for rainbow and brown fisheries in the western mtns.
