Freeride World Tour
Based on the way my kids are fighting in the living room right now, I’m just gonna chalk this one up to bad energy.
Turn around. Go home.
Sometimes it’s best to walk away.
I was having a pretty hard time understanding how FWT was going to host an event on the Bec with new snow, anyway.
I’m glad they had the courage to turn around. That’s a veteran move.
Super bummed I couldn’t see Reine ski his final retirement run, though.
Maybe it’s better this way… leaving me wanting more.
Love you, Reine.
Can’t wait to see what’s next.

How hard is it to reschedule? Apparently, very hard…

^^^ oof. That'd be a spicy venue.

Damn. What a bummer.
Understandable I guess. The weather and avi conditions didn’t cooperate. And a comp window can only be so long. I’m guessing it’s not cheap to post up in Verbier for an indefinite length of time.
Actually I’m surprised that this doesn’t happen more often.

Man, I feel like a dick trying to be all "understanding" of knowing when to "turn around" from a post-cancellation perspective.
Holy Shit---

20% of me has always been super frustrated with Maxime. The other 80% has been trying to take it all in.
“Who the fuck is this guy? He’s not even a skier.”
But I’ve always been listening to the back of my head, wondering… “Who the fuck is this guy? He’s not even a skier and he’s out-skiing all of you.”
I don’t know who Maxime is, but I applaud him because he is the first of my skiing heroes to genuinely piss me off, politely.
Homie reinvented my sport in ways that I didn’t see coming.
I bow.
Me — “I thought we were skiing.”
Maxime — “I thought we were flying.”

Yep, should be very interesting.
I can't seem to find the list of 2024 starters/skiers. The FWT website is not the best.
