Who makes cool/unique/quality T-shirts?

The clothes closet is getting pretty bare, and I need to get myself some new shirts. Usually I just pick up shirts here and there when traveling, unique/artistic stuff. But with the shutdown that hasn't happened, and I'm needing to get me some shirts from the internet.

Anybody have a lead on good screen printed t-shirts? I've looked on Etsy but there's about a million sellers to try and sort through. I'm always keen to support independent artists/small businesses. Know any??

You should prolly just go straight to our host. I mean a $37 grateful dead T is unique....can't vouch for "cool" or "quality" though.

I have a buddy who's a designer and has chosen to just design/make his own shirts from places he's traveled instead of buying them at a souvenir shop in the destination. I have a couple and they're really nice quality. Obviously can't say whether any of them will be relevant or "cool" to you.

I used to get stuff from Threadless, they may not really qualify as a small business anymore though. Also, depends on your interest level in hipster design / humor.

The entire city of Cleveland has become a string of hip t shirt shops. No really, you can't swing a dead walleye without hitting one.

Why don't you get a couple of nice material, nicely colored plain tshirts for now then just go back to your old system when you can go back to traveling?

I wouldn't be opposed to buying a graphic tshirt on the internet if I happened to stumble upon something I liked or wanted to support a group/site I liked and used a lot, but I can't really see going out and searching for graphic tees online at this stage of my life (though in the past, I bought plenty from Threadless, Imaginary Foundation, etc.).

For blank cotton T's, in tasteful colors, and with a nice fit, the ones they sell (seasonally) at Costco, house-brand (Kirkland), are actually very good. My standard non-blank version is any of the dozens of event tees (races etc) that I have stuffed in a big drawer; that and a few Ween shirts.

How relevant. I had to go to the grow shop today for supplies and there were three women on the street outside the store with anti-abortion signs. I really wanted to ask them if they wanted to go make babies later.

the best t-shirts are naadam. they just are. I've got 3 of them, received them all as gifts. THey're very pricy, except when you consider that they're made of fair-trade sustainably sourced freakin cashmere then they're really cheap. But not cheap enough for me to actually buy one for myself.
