I'm just cutting back alcohol. I'm not a stoner anyways.

Sobruary, people! It’s after the holidays, and it’s short.
If I make it to the 31st, I don't think having a drink that night ruins or negates the whole month.

Having a good grasp of the obvious does not make you pro in any way, sorry.

Again, it's a recalibration and reflection. If I go back to 100% on Nov 1st it was all pointless.

Nothing wrong with recalibration and reflection. Just do it. Why make it a thing? And why make it public?

    Quitter

We also have a traditional Halloween party we attend the weekend before. I’m not much of a drinker, but I typically let loose for that one. COVID is gonna save me from the Saturday Halloween this year. I don’t remember much from the last one, but I do remember that tequila and whiskey mixed together tastes like shit.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

Well, maybe you don't have a grasp of the obvious like I thought you did.

Halloween is the biggest holiday of the year in our house, but it's a bummer all the parties including ours will be cancelled.

October is possibly the worst month to abstain from alcohol for me. It is peak of the bird season and after a good day of chasing birds with my dog or even cutting firewood having a whisk(e)y by the fire in the evening is one of the great pleasures of the fall.

I always wonder how much people must drink to feel like they need to take a month off.

It seems like an unnecessary thing to do if you drink in moderation, even if you do so regularly, but maybe I'm wrong. I suppose we'll find out in a few decades.

IME its gona take > a month of substance free existance to feel any difference , i think it was closer to 6 months but i did feel different

At parties I would gravitate to the other 1 or 2 people who were not drinking for undrunk conversation, i would usually wana go home by midnight when things are just getting very drunk

    Sober October

I'll weigh in with my vote:

    Piss off.

I wasn't going to have a beer this afternoon but now I am out of principal.

Your point would be driven home better if it wasn't still September. Cheers!

Sorry mang, but you hardly qualify as a pro for tip-giving purposes if you only consume a coupla drinks a month. Leave to those who actually imbibe.

I'm about to wrap up a Sober September. Drinking was getting kind of out of hand. I might continue through october and reevaluate after that.

Ah, it was this time last year that I woke up in the woods with no clothes on. That occasioned an involuntary sober october. Fuck that.

When one of my friends was asked why he does sober October he said “y’all were born skinny” I laughed but needless to say taking a break from something is never a bad thing in my opinion.
