Right so what’s with the dichotomy of you being super pro narcotics and heroin but afraid of beer? Asking in a friendly way, come out and ski I’ll be a tour guide.

I measure my drinks these days. Keeps you honest

Stick with it, it gets better by the end of week 2. You will start to notice your skin and eyes looking brighter and healthier. Mood will start to even out and that nagging sensation of wanting/needing a drink with dinner will subside. Even if you just go for 30 days it will let you know there is another way.
    Keep on keeping on

Man, start a bowel regimen before some annoying medical student is manually disimpacting you in the ER. Unless that’s your thing in which case carry on....

Full moon late-night naked surfing, waking up on the beach got me wondering. I blame the Jager.

Heard that one. If you are just wondering, you're probably good. When other people let you know that you're getting too fucked up, you may need to get your shit together. That was my experience, at least.

I can handle the cravings. Can enjoy the ball game with a water or tea or whatever. I've got enough hobbies and interests to keep my mind busy.

But the insomnia at night, god damn. Anyone have tips for someone who has basically forgotten how to fall asleep sober?

I've tried chamomile tea, cut out caffeine, no screen time before bed, melatonin, copious amounts of weed etc. Tossing and turning until ~5 or 6 am is getting old very fast.

I could give up the wine and weed, but the adrenochrome would be tough.

Shit, when I quit drinking I would be up for like 4-5 days in a row, truly psychotic stuff. Took some prescription sleepers and a lot of retraining to get to sleep...

Get drunk and take ambien. Then it will be the ambien that puts you to sleep, not the alcohol.
