Last time it was cut was over $5million in damage. Wouldn’t they have extreme camera infrared motion tracking voice recording etc. to prevent a recurrence?

How would you even do that? Oxy/acetylene torch and a willingness to be sliced in half by a 3" thick steel cable? I can't imagine what a miles long cable under tension looks like when cut.

They have the guy on video for sure, but it was one of the smokiest days (nights) in years, and he was most likely covered from head to toe.
Bigger question: same guy, accomplice, or copy cat?

Motion and video detectors far from the towers.
Ultra bright floodlights.
Sharks with laser beams if necessary
Five to ten million in damages allows a bit of budget for prevention for intentional sabotage
Although the fire and smoke does provide nice cover. . .
