Any version of Jameis is likely a substantial improvement over whatever that was that Watson put on the field this week.

And Watson has been served with another sexual assault civil suit from 2020.

Quite the Monday morning for this guy.

Browns should be able to sue him for sexual assault after how that contract has played out

Just came here to post that - and to ask if we think that means we can break the contract. Maybe.

    Maybe?

    Please?

I'm streaming 92.3 FM out of Cleveland when the afternoon guys broke the news and they've talked about nothing but how to use this to cancel the contract and void the deal. One of them is saying that Jimmy and Dee Haslam have been talking to the League office about doing so and what that entails.

PLEASE, say we can. I can watch Jameis play QB this year, couldn't be any worse than PJ freakin Walker or any of the other 38 warm bodies we've parked behind center.

Upon further reflection, since it's a civil case it seems unlikely that it would break a contract.

LOL. The station got the breaking news music going and I was certain it would be news that they cut Deshaun. Nope. They just signed a guy who has recorded less than 200 yards in a single season in a position where the Browns don’t have a need.

This team can be so hard to love sometimes.

The thing they are saying is different between this civil case and the others is that this one accuses Watson of sexual assault among other different charges whereas the other 40 suits were stuff like inappropriate contact or sexual propositioning. I’m not a courtroom jock so I can’t say the differences but I did read this complaint and this case, if true, reads more like rape than asking for a rub and tug.

    What an absolute garbage human.

So, Deshaun was 24/45 for 169 yards. 1TD, 2 INT. Passer rating of 51. In the first half he was 7/15 for 36 yards. 1 INT. Passer rating 25.

Which means in the second half he was 17/30, 133 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT. Passer rating of 65. BUT Amari dropped a perfectly thrown 50 yard TD pass. Had Cooper caught that his second half stats were 18/30, 183, 2 TD, 1 INT. Passer rating 85. BUT Moore let an easily catchable ball through his hands and resulted in an interception. Had Moore caught that his second half stats would have been 19/30, 188, 2TD, 0 INT. 103 rating!

Standard reps and warranties - we need to see what, if anything, was set forth on his Disclosure Schedule to his Contract.

Man I hate this acquisition and contract.

Drink the Depression Away Cleveland Browns Support Group

Remember the book Flowers for Algernon, where the low IQ guy takes some drug, gets really smart, has amazing experiences and figures a bunch of stuff out, but then just when it starts to matter it stops working and he fades back into the dark?

That’s the last five years of the Cleveland Browns. The drug wore off.

3 yards. That’s all you needed to gain and punch in a game winning TD.

You should be able to count on your franchise quarterback to get you that.

Deshaun Watson is not that quarterback. What a joke.

Garbage offense. Garbage QB. Garbage game.

This part is the most confusing.

We're moving on to the Guardians and the ALDS on Saturday.

Jameis give the pre-game hype speeches to the team. Deshaun is supposedly a captain and yet he walked off the field yesterday. I chose to work on a plumbing project yesterday over listening/watching this rudderless ship, checking scores every so often. My decision was justified. What a terrible team; 5 weeks in and the season is over because you went all in on a broken quarterback.

    Thank God for the Guardians.

I don't understand why Stephanski and/or the ownership is so stubbornly clinging to Watson with Jameis waiting in the wings. You have a piece of shit human being who is also a terrible football player, next to (by all accounts) a stand-up guy who is also a more capable player. WHAT IS IT ABOUT WATSON THEY LIKE SO MUCH??!!!!

You have a legit #1 WR in Amari Cooper, a legit TE in Njoku, a decent WR2 in Jeudy, and all-world RB Nick Chubb appears to be days or weeks away from a return. The defense has most of the same players who made this one of the most fearsome units in the NFL last year. THIS COULD BE A GOOD TEAM!?!?!?!

How can they not see that Watson is the cancer that is preventing all those pieces - that are all in place - from gelling into what they could be?? The Browns should not be this bad!!!

You are dead nuts on, without a doubt, sure as shit, ab-so-fucking-lutely 100% right. Watson is the cancer that has gotten in the way of this team living up to the talent on this roster.

The locker room is divided in half with guys saying he's a good leader and player and the others who demur and simply say "we all need to do better" when winking and nodding towards his locker.

All you have to do is look how well this team played when he was out of the equation last year. They won games with PJ freakin Walker starting at QB. They won games with Dorian Thompson Robinson starting at QB. They took the reanimated corpse of Joe Flacco off his couch and rode that arm cannon to the playoffs all while having fun.

This year, there is no fun. Watson isn't a leader. He shows up because that's where the checks come from, I don't see him sticking around working with players after practice like the guys above did last year.

Just move on from him already.

Ego. Can’t admit how bad that trade and contract were.
