Good to hear. I had been wondering about him also.

I ran into his brother a couple years back.

Heh, at my age “hucks” do not exceed 3” off the snow nor 1 sec in duration.
Anything bigger is a prelude to tragedy
    But thanks for the optimism!

only going to watch a little of tomorrow to see a friend's talk. I'll be watching WYSAW because it's more relevant to work/life and USAW potentially.

I'm all about consuming more information right now. Do those have links where we can sign up?

First link is for WYSAW which has a handful of speakers from Utah and is this week http://www.tetoncountysar.org/wysaw

Early next month is when USAW happens and it looks like handful of Jackson folks will be speaking there. https://store.utahavalanchecenter.or...sses-education

A friend went up to Palmer to snag some turns yesterday and... Palmer is gone. Dirt. Even the gully where they pile up snow that is almost always skiable is melted out. Anybody heard of this happening before? I’m hoping they just stopped farming snow because of covid and this is not a sign of things to come. Sorry to buzzkill the optimist thread.

Well, not sure if this classifies as an optimistic post...but, FYI:

^^^Seems reasonable to me. Reserve 7 days in advance. Cancel w/o penalty before 0700 day of. Which releases the cancelled spots.

This way you don’t have to resort to human smuggling to ski

I have not read it in detail. My main concern is to secure parking for my vacation over there during the festive time of year. I look forward to battling it out with the masses. Not sure if can reserve those way in advance, or if that's something I need to be on 7 days prior to arrival.

Beginning 11/9 you can reserve up to 7 days anytime during the season.

15-16 Fall it got pretty skimpy. But I don't recall it ever disappearing completely.

is the bus service from Bend to Mt Bachelor still on schedule to run this winter?

I took good advantage of that service a couple years ago, (walked from airbnb) rather than driving personal vehicle...

Where would one park their vehicle if they decided not to drive up but take the bus? I suppose I could put my skis on my back and ride the mtn bike the 3.5 miles from my house to the parking lot...

Parking lot @ the bus pick up location. No parking reservations needed at Bachelor for bus riders. WTF
