I skied some lower elevation stuff around hrm elevation today. I wish I had stayed up high but I just didn't have the motivation to brave the nukage. Snow was a mixed bag of powder and upside down wind funk. Found tiny slabs here and there.

Good base building material. Hopefully it lasts through the warm-up.

Bend-ish people: if you don’t have a snowmobile and don’t know anyone with a snowmobile yet and won’t be getting a snowmobile this winter, is some kind fat fish scale (I.e. vector/objective BC) rig a good idea for tour minded folk looking to do more than Tumalo or Todd Lake Rim all winter? Anyone into that kind of thing? Worth it, or stupid?

If trying to get turns is the purpose then you’re realistically out of luck going that route. Lots of great rolling shuffling to be skied on that sort of setup though.

Relative to a lot of the stuff in the NW, the skin out to the usual suspects really isn't terrible down here. It's flat, at least.

Nice! Checking into this cursed thread now that there's evidence of actual turns being made. Looking forward to earning turns this year and avoiding resort shit-shows as much as possible.

I need to get me one of those little glove squeegees. Snow was creamy and dense. It's nice not needing reservations to park during November. Wonder if Bachelor will move up opening day.

Wait, what. Bachelor stepping up for the locals. Absurd. At least the resorts were left off the chopping block for now.

The old Mt Bachelor retracting ticket holders work great with skigees. It is always available, and you can’t lose it.

This is a staple of skiing bachelor. Top of pine to top of red chair can be quite blind

X3 on starting a new thread. Let's piss off the rest of the PNWashington sliders with yet another orygun only thread.

I'm en route to the parents house next week and was wondering how the bend to bachelor bus situation is working out? Their parking seems to be sold out already...

Yes, yes I know you don't want me in your state etc, but it will be myself and the wife for just a night or two in our van not bothering people.
