It also brings up an age old question. How well do you really know the guy you’re doing business with (or did), much less know his (or her) last name?

Fuck, they’re all just Steves. Always have been.

I don't have quite the backstory of BMills and his assfinder, but that black 90 is a carbon copy of my first car. Stick, all black, mine had a spoiler, which on a pathfinder was the most pointless factory addition in the history of vehicles.

Reno really is where these things cross the rainbow bridge, isn’t it? Never seen so many.

Mine was a black SE-V6 with the Sport Package and Chrome Package.
Mine had the spoiler too. It made it look cool but was prone to sun damage. Someone once told me it was for blowing dust/snow off the back due to the aerodynamics that would otherwise let it cake up back there. Seemed to do the job.

That black one above has been wrecked from behind. The SE badging is in the wrong side of the tailgate and is missing the same.

I like to think that all the Pathfinders in Reno got here by being hocked at the pawn shops by degenerate gamblers desperate for just one more pull... One more roll of the dice... One more card.

    Hit me!

I laughed at what that note would look like.

"Hi, nice Pathfinder, if you're interesting in selling it, please log onto tetongravity.com/forums, register an account (if the server closet fan is working that day), proceed to the "Padded Room" sub-forum, scroll past the NSFW stuff, World is Burning discussions, Wagon Stoke, and everything else and find a thread titled The quest for Bmillsskier's Pathfinder" (don't bother using search function). There you can find a guy named Bmillsskier and you can read up on his quest, or just make him an offer. Either way, you must mention "Change for a nickle" if you want the people in there to know you're cool. Good luck."

I was going to say, that looks like an XE (which was my model) due to the rims (which it also only has three of). Definitely a wreck with a replaced tailgate.

When I had mine I was still living in seacoast NH, which isn't exactly a dirt road kinda place, so never saw the benefit to the spoiler, but that makes sense.

This thread is making me jones for one also. I loved that car, and it was basically indestructible. My Dad bought it new in 92, and literally changed the oil once every 50k miles. By the time it ended up being mine, the car had 175k and still ran like a champ, although it ended up rusting out pretty quickly on me. As a 16 year old I beat the shit out of it also and it just kept trucking. I even took it to New England Dragway and ran nitrous on it once after my buddy was to scared to run it on his miata. Run what ya brung!

Have you bought a replacement Assfinder yet? Here's a ridiculously overpriced one:

And the Craigslist ad from whence it came:

I have not found a suitable Assfinder replacement yet. I've got that one example that I found in Seattle that the dealer would not play ball on (to even a reasonable number) as the unobtainable standard stuck in my head.

That said, this one is pretty sweet. I may not be it's target, but it's sweet. Reminds me of an old friend's 2 door built up SE-V6. Couple interesting things from the article:

"it’s pretty difficult to figure out who exactly is to blame for what’s become of the current generation Nissan Pathfinder"

    Yes, it is.

    and

"The ad says that this is just one of the owner’s Pathfinders"

This is the real scoop in there. What else ya got there chief?
