If you go pick it up and drive cross country home, I can offer a place to stay near Reno on the way.

Gone the second I contacted the seller. Said I was second in line but went silent and then deleted the listing.

SO fucking cherry, thanks! Counting on the grenaded engine after driving 3K miles with bad bearing spitting material throughout the oil system adds another $3,000 for the replacement engine and a shop to drop it in, and that's before finding the other shit that's gone wrong.

That said, message sent to seller.

Yeah, how does plain bearing get loose exactly?

I thought the industry term was simply "degraded to shrapnel"?

I can attest, as a high school motorhead with a beater Camaro, I spun bearings in several used SBCs in a single year, I sort of took it as a challenge to grenade engines that were donated to my HS auto shop, usually in parallel to shredding tires into shrapnel...

rod knock is unmistakable and loud, and usually doesn't last long till boom.

Can confim. As someone who blew the Assfinder's original engine just before the Eisenhower Tunnel it took all of 30 seconds from first sign of danger till immobilization.

If I ever see my old friend who put a hole in the oil pan when we stopped for breakfast that morning again I'm going to remind him he still owes me an engine for the Pathfinder I'm about to buy.

Not yet. Inquiring minds want to know about the about-to-be-grenaded engine.

A stunning example, just not what I’m looking for. $8k with 6 days left. Worth it I think.

From everything I’ve read the seller might be the guy to build the one that I do find. Rave reviews.

That one above would be, but then again, none were really quick at all. The ideal is 94/95 SE-V6 preferably in black with the chrome trim.

How about this one? Low miles, right color. If it's been a CA vehicle, should be low/no rust.
