Salomon MTN brakes shovel, Grivel self arrest

Salomon MTN brakes, 98 mm part number 72067.

I used them on a 108 ski for a few days.
    $30 shipped.

Shovel, life link, $15 plus shipping.

Grivel condor, self arrest attachment for ski pole.
Similar to Black diamond whippet, but sturdier.
    $25 plus shipping.

I like the idea of that retractable self arrest grip. Owned plenty of whippets, but not too keen on the newest gen with removable head.

It's hard to tell from the pic. Does it include a lower or do you attach it to your pole of choice?

    Does not include the lower.
I was using it with a three part bd carbon pole.

I'm interested in the brakes. Does the heel of the boot rest on the brakes in any meaningful way? I'm wondering if it improves power transfer in any small way. Probably not.

Do you have the little brake retention screws for the brakes? I just bought a used pair myself but they didn't come with those which added another $15 (local shop or $20+ship for skimo.co) to the purchase. Just an FYI.

Haven't mounted them yet so can't comment on power transfer

The heel is on the brakes. Power transfer is really good, but again, i ski with expert springs and the heel doesn't move at all.

    Are the screws included?

There are two red screws, don't remember how they go in. There are no other screws needed, the brakes go under the heel pieces.

Screw goes in front of the heel piece and allows the brake to slide over it to hold down the front of the brake plate. See attached.
