Story time? I've never heard anything about working for them but can only imagine that it's terrible.

Tell your friend to buy from a decent supplier or better yet keep it local. Bc.com can go fuck themselves.

I'm coming out of my long-time lurker status to fully agree with the sentiments above.

backcountry is such a piece of shit employer. that's what happens when you get bought by a media holding company.

i was there during the transition from "cool online retailer" to "soulless garbage dump who wastes its time with frivolous lawsuits against anyone who uses the term backcountry", and yeah, i can't say enough bad about them. working there was like being part of some Machiavellian capitalist machine; each new week they would come up with new and novel ways of making their employee's lives shitty, all while paying $11/hour or some shit.

seriously, go spend your money at any other online retailer - alpenglowgear, REI, whomever, just not shitbucket backcountry.

At least they're hanging out with Specialized now.

Those discounts are long gone since they were acquired by a Chinese corporation. Used to actually be a pretty solid company once upon a time (like 8-10 years ago).

    Shop at evo.com instead.

The code started when? 2004-5-6? And lasted through the liberty media “social commerce” stake in 2007, continuing into 2008, Then decreased in utility?

Yeah, I buy fishing supplies, boating supplies, etc. locally.
Not too many local outfitters here carrying ski boots.

My skis live in Sandy. They are Head Monsters with the red and white snake skin top sheet. Circa 2004?
I see no need for anything else. I love that ski.
If I need it, I buy all my gear in Utah, in the spring.
Got some Atomic Hawx 130's at Alta for $350 one spring. Rented twice that season. Best deal yet.

I forgot all about their lawsuit spree. Forgive me.

    Carry on.

Level nine has given me great advice over the years, Whit especially took the time for some real guidance on ski selection. Also was a godsend when I was equipping small kids. Their kids boot that works over like 4 sizes at the same BSL was a godsend for growing kids, I’ve never seen that anyplace else. Plus, I think SFB works there, so there’s that.

Pretty sure not owned by China.

I worded it poorly, I was more suggesting that Warthog look (or send his friend) there b/c they always have some good deals goin on.

I too got some good advice. I've bought a bunch of kid's stuff including the "4 sizes" boots (which lasted two kids and four seasons before they sized out).
