    2020 TDF Fantasy League

Hard to believe with all the shit that's going on but the TDF is scheduled to start on 8/29.

Perhaps something like this to distract is just what we need but I thought I'd check to see just how much interest there is.

Let me know if you want to play.

I don’t see this as being a good year to do it, but if we need to fill a spot I will do it.

Edit: disregard, I’m out. Refer to above if football is the subject. I don’t pay attention to subforums sometimes. Details schmetails.

I never follow TDF, which I had to put together probably means Tour de France...but I like fantasy leagues so I’m in!

Not the Tour...just wasn't sure where to put this. At least Tour watchers might find it interesting.

It makes perfect sense...until you think about it.

I suspect there's logic behind the madness, but I'm too dumb to see it.

I've been getting notices about trivia contests where you can earn free changes. Wasn't really on the radar until I saw them.

Bumping one last time before I set it up. Looks like we've got 6 which I guess is enough?

If anybody else is interested speak up.

    2020 TDF Fantasy League

Team Ineos leaves both Thomas AND Froome off the TdF team!
    That makes my picks easier...

Gonna be a real wild tour......given a lot of big names are out and the fact that a single covid case could throw an entire team out in the middle or give rise to more abandons.

Cavendish not selected by his team for TdF!
I made a Facebook comment like “Is he still even racing”
Gawd the Brits really love their Cav! I got so many hate comments. Like “when have you ever won a World Tour Stage?”
So I was like “It’s been like 4 years since Cav has actually won anything more than just a Wednesday night weekly track sprint at the local Velodrome.”

Cav is out... and Facebook is still a bad place to argue with fanatical fans.

You should have suggested that a "Masters" classification be added. Bet that would have gone over well.

List is still provisional so changes may be necessary. Example - Kruijswijk is listed but he’s pulled out. There may be others I didn’t notice as well.

But Grappe warned of competitive concerns, too. A rider, or a team, in contention for the leader’s yellow jersey would have a strong incentive to keep any virus concerns secret.“If, two days before the end of the Tour, the yellow jersey is at risk, is he going to fill in the form in honesty and run the risk of being disqualified?” Grappe asked.
Prudhomme dismissed such concerns, arguing that it was “everyone’s responsibility” to respect the protocols. “I don’t see how people wouldn’t respect the rules,” he said.
    from NYT

uh huh, Monsieu Prudhomme, cuz they're RULES, amirite?!?

will be interesting to see how it goes, esp with the pandemic compounding it all...it is always a spectacle

odds on multiple teams going out due to COVID during the 3 wks...?

The picks lock at 0500 GMT tomorrow.

If my conversion is correct (and it may not be) that's 2300 MDT tonite.

It's up to you to get them in on time.

    Allez!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

edit: My mistake, deadline is 0600 GMT. Gives you an extra hour.
