I think there is some special voodoo around short offset forks as well. I tried my N9 with both 51mm and 44mm (long story on how I got two forks...) and 44mm and the 44mm was just easier "to feel the ground" , I wish I had better words to describe it. It like going from car with and Early Electronic power steering with no feel to a car with no power steering. With no power steering you can feel what the wheels are doing really well. that extra feel leads to you being able to corner better.

Theoretically (derp), I think wheel base is so important..

6 mil is over half a cm (duh).

Whether it's travel, geometry, wheel size or whatever. Whatever. Terrain is so varied here now. What's the best fit?

Anyway, I'm digging the looks of the salsa and there's a dealer in btown (Old Spokes) that kills it. We'll see

Getting a bit interested in the new Rocky Mountain Element, but info is very scarce. 120/130, 67 degree HTA (but I would run it as a 140). All I know for now. Would be a good compliment to my 160/170 altitude.

funny thing is, salsa advertises 130 -150 fork. they spec a 150.
Anyways, You'd run the stiffest fork right? Unless you're concerned about weight...maybe small bump compliance?

To me, give the best rear-end compliance with the most down hill front end.. Game over. ha, I digress.

The bike doesnt matter so much when a spandex wearing milf comes into the shop and nestles that peachka down on a bike seat.

Just told Hoff’s (Rocky dealer) to put a ‘22/23 Element on hold for me for delivery next year, unless something better comes along. No more details, the dealers got vague renderings, and then they disappeared off the dealer portal.

I couldn't get a straight answer from any Rocky dealers uk sides. Non of them knew what they've got allocated and deposits of just incase had been dropped by many enquirers before moi.

Anyone have much time on a Kona Process 134? Just curious. I could actually get one of those within a year, I think.

I rode one a year ago, pretty decent entry-level bike. Components wonít blow anybody away but should be durable and Iíd say the 140/134mm travel and frame quality along with good modern geometry would make it a nice bike for someone to ride and upgrade as things wear out.

I donít remember anything really sticking out to me but thought it was a nice trail bike. I think the 140 travel number is pretty money for an all-arounder

Mostly interested in climbing impressions, as this would be my lighter bike for the local not-too rowdy trails with big climbs. It would be all XTR/carbon everything, so probably ~27 pounds or so.
    Thanks!

My new 2022 Hightower Carbon C.

What’s up mags. I think I posted once in this section a couple years ago asking about carbon frames breaking. Finally decided to pull the trigger last Friday and start riding. Seems like a damn good time, good exercise in the summer and all the cool kids around here are doing it. With the uncertainty of 2022 and all the supply issues, took the leap while I could find a good option for our terrain, even though I will only get a couple months of riding before the snow starts flying. Seems like a nice safe choice?

    Watch for dumb questions!

    Nice SC love the orange!

Good on your dealer for turning a shit situation around Rossy.

Have a bit of bike jealousy with my riding buddy picking up the Gloss Oasis (minty greenish) '22 Stumpy Pro in my size... not really much different than my '19/20 but love the color, which is not well represented on the site.
