Fear not, Jim Cantore will be standing waist deep in water soon enough as his camera man stands on dry land 5 feet away.

Holy shit the bands that Delta is kicking off are monsters. Just had a hour long drive through one back from the mountains to ATL that was worse than all but a handful of blizzards I’ve driven through. Completely flooded highway/State Routes; bad accidents on cue every two miles, tornado warnings all over the place....
Vibes to those that took the actual storm head-on.I still call it The Jake.

Yeah it looks sketchy in the hills down there. Is ATL still under tornado watches?

Was till about midnight in some spots. One bit south of the city but the usual flooding and downed legacy trees all over the place making the next day fun.
It was nasty as shit in the Blue Ridge Mtns and the band tracked my exact path back to the city.I still call it The Jake.

Now if this could just scoot out a bit further south so I don't have to deal with snow Friday morning I'd be happy. It won't be enough (if it does happen) to really matter but people around here get so fucking stupid when it snows that it's more of a hassle than it's worth unless it's so much they have to stay home.

Our power is out in 28601 Hickory, NC. Sustained winds around 40, I would guess. Gusting to maybe 70-80. Trees and debris everywhere. Fun times. I feel a tornado in my knees. Hopefully I don't get called out on an extrication.
swing your fucking sword.

Someone should check and see if it filled the canal back up, on top of the crazy fast winds, this one is a soaker.

Man, shit is weird as fuck around here. Sunny and warm like a summer day, but everything is wet and there's shit everywhere.
Ventured out cause no power to get some coffee and eventually said fuck it and turned back around. Apparently people don't think that major intersections (all any for that matter) become 4 way stops when the lights are out. It's like people are just closing their eyes and flooring it.
The city is in the middle of a forest which is neat for events like these; it brings down tons of 75 year old white pines and oaks in the most inconvenient places.
The streets have what looks like ruts in the snow in every lane, but instead of dirty slush it's pine needles and leaves. Crazy.I still call it The Jake.
