So my brother sent me this pic recently, made with fresh eggs from his chickens. Reminds me of mom’s home cooking, and the amazing breakfast subs I used to enjoy from some of bodegas in mid-town Manhattan.

A good chunk of what I've seen here looks more appealing than the cafeteria food I ate from elementary school through college. Seems short on salads / produce, but other than that, it doesn't look bad.

My firm is moving into a new office next month so today we’re having a “dump day” so everyone can toss/shred everything they don’t need anymore. To encourage participation they brought in a killer BBQ food truck and have a couple regulation bars set up with legit mixologists.

Guess who’s not gonna get shit done today after eating this and downing a couple manhattans.

It took me longer than I'd like to admit to find the beginning of BTS's posts....but daily prison food most certainly needs its own thread.

Our dispatchers get comped jail meals since we typically need to be physically in the center all shift. Food is mostly edible, but I try to avoid most of the time so I don’t become super-sized.

The kitchen takes a head-count for who’s taking each meal, which creates more work, but helps reduce waste. I’ve thought of starting a jail meal of the day blog, but pretty sure admin would not be stoked on it.

Can’t be sure, but want to say this was some kind of pepper-steak. Yeah, let’s go with that.

Hard pass on this one. I draw the line at whatever that cubed meat is.

Tempted to mow the blueberry muffin, but less than an hour left in my shift before I can go home to make pizza and drink beer.

I did not eat the fruit.

Spinach and cheese stuffed shells today, sausage side. I took the first pic upside-down, but the sausage demanded more attention as sausage often do…

I think we all like it when our sausage gets the right kind of attention.

Not now, I’m visualizing my run.

So the trays come up covered, so even when you know what it is, there’s an unveiling. Guessing there were funnier accidental arrangements of shells and sausage. My juvenile mind saw an opening.

That looks like decent chicken soup. I would have been happy to have that. In a bowl would have been nice

Zoom in on the turkey(?) cubes with the fake grill marks. It might be tasty, but my experience tells me to avoid. I still appreciate that they offer us anything, and a lot of it is better than what I brought much of the time.

And one I haven't watched for way too long. Thanks for the inspiration. Now I just need to figure out which streaming service it's on
