How much does your bike weigh?
So I put cushcore in today and realized I had not weighed my bike in some time. 35 pounds on the nose. Holy shit. Seems like a lot for a size small Knolly Warden Carbon with Ibis 741/742 carbon hoops, carbon bars, carbon XO crankset, XTR pedals, etc.
The heaviest stuff have to be the Push coil and the Michelin mini moto tires.
Still. This thing is kind of a pig. No wonder I want one of those 28 pound downcountry bikes all the cool kids have now.
So, how heavy is your ride? Then tell me how much your bike weighs too.

Steel is real.
At least there's no drivetrain to weigh it down.

It seems all my bikes end up gaining weight. My downcountry medium transition scout ended up at 33lbs. Tires, liners , rotors/brakes make it inevitable.
Tomorrows new purchse looks to be 36lbs before i add tire liners and probably bigger rotors

I really don't care enough to weigh them. Nevertheless I am having fun riding them.

Enduro is 32-36, depending on setup. 38 + burly wheels + DH tires = close to 36 lbs. Lyrik + lighter wheels + Exo Plus = a bit over 32.

2018 Transition Sentinel carbon, medium, 32+/- lbs (includes pedals, OneUp tool, OneUp 70cc pump, Garmin, Timber Bell, bottle cage, & CushCore XC in rear). At its peak weight, it was just under 33 including a Push 11-6. I have plenty of high end, relatively light components(*), but when you are running a modern geo enduro bike with all the shit you actually carry and good tires, it's really hard to stay under 32 lbs.

XL Ripmo AF, NX build, DHF Maxterra 3c, DVO Diamond and Topaz. 34.6 LBS. I expect to drop a pound or so as things wear out or break but never gonna be a light weight. Then again, neither am I at 6’3” and 210.

I had literally never weighed my bike before this. 28.0 lbs, 2014 Ibis Ripley OG, XT build w/140mm Pike and DB Air, DHF 2.35 on the front and Minion SS 2.35 on the back. I always thought it felt light!

My Banshee Titan (L) is probably 33ish. I haven’t weighed it, but the shop guys told me it was 34ish when they built it up and I’ve replaced the Super Gravity tires since then.
My GF’s Ripmo v2 (L) is 30.7 with SC reserve hoops laced to I9 hubs and XTR everything.

20 years ago one of the local shops had a scale hanging over the door labeled "The Dream Wrecker". When ever any customer mention weight, or bragged about the weigh of their bike, or a special light part, they'd just point to the scales and say "Go Ahead"
I don't miss the days of riding 45lbs DH bikes.

I want to say my supersix was high 14s without pedals or cages or anything on it, but it's closer to 16 now with the deep wheels and in actually rideable condition.
MTB is 23-24 which is actually kind of heavy for a hardtail xc bike.
Working on getting a new kona hei hei cr, which is about 27. Think I can live with that for a 120/120 bike with a dropper.

My med Firebird29 with the XO level build, carbon everything, and EXO tires comes in at 32 with pedals.
Just built a steel hardtail with NO carbon and it feels about the same.
Giant Defy roady with ultegra hydro, tubeless with Reynolds carbon wheels comes in at 19.
Bikers are heavy now. Way better than breaking stuff all the time though!
My 2014 Intense T275 came in at 28 with pedals with a Pike and carbon everything. Lightest 160mm bike I've owned, actually fast uphill. Broke three wheels on that thing though, Carbon wheels weren't what they are now. Ditched the Pike for a Lyric and added half a pound. Also, literally bent the whole bike in half at the links. Both of them were pretzeled. That bike's successor, the Orange Tracer came in at 30 with a Fox 36 and X2, and E13 Carbon hoops. That bike was way more robust.Last edited by beaterdit; 07-24-2020 at 05:54 PM.
