How’s HV skiing right now if that’s the conditions away from the slopes?

Cleveland is just as close to HV as we are here in the ROC. Regardless, not sure but it can't be good. Some snow on the way this coming week.

You already got my vote. Now you're getting around and making it happen, you're all good. And yeah, now make it snow.

True, but it’s even farther from here in ATL. Going to visit fam in CLE by month-end and am going to pack the boards regardless.

I have not seen any friends posting actual conditions and photos this week after the big melt down, 50's and 60 degree temperatures and 2 or 3 days straight of rain. Last week between Christmas and New Years they were doing pretty good. They are only partially open due to man made snow covering like most WNY resorts now. Even KB that got quite a bit of that snow that Buffalo and Hamburg got shut down last weekend New Years Eve at 5:00 PM and then was closed Sunday New Years Day. Many WNY shut down this past week for a few days mid week also.

My son and I went up a mountain on the AT yesterday that we always do the first week of each New Year. It was 38°, gray skies and low clouds that perfectly silhouetted the surrounding mountain peaks and ridges, total stick season except for the pines and mountain laurel exposing the rock faces that are hidden in the summer, and it was completely enjoyable.

    A perfectly gray day.

That view may be “blue” and sunny, but it’ll never be as green as the upstates are (even in the dead of winter).

Let’s not get started on the droughts and wildfires there too.

I think we can all agree it’s possible to enjoy the variety of life that different climates afford.

Like the Ted’s and Doug’s of life if you will; different for many reasons, somewhat enjoyable for others.

The Official Argue About Where Upstate NY Is Thread

took a hike this morning in trail town. I didn't mind the grey skies

a nice ambling footpath through converted farmland

^ found a nice area of respite on the trail

    ^ I waited but Kenny didn't show

^ turns out I gave back to the FLT while I knocked this one back

    enjoy your Sunday
    go Bills!
