Yup, it depends on which side of the road you're on. @S_jenks, Plattsburgh is a classic Interstate city, an international trade zone, a college town and an Air Force Base town, primarily though it's an Upstate city at it's core. The lakefront potential is typically underutilized and full of unrealized potential and their access to the North Country outdoors is similarly underexploited.

Plattsburgh is where I was born- even though my family is from (and eventually returned to) the capitol district. The Plattsburgh area has also been the scene of some mayhem recently.

Ausable Chasm is otherwise a cool place to visit.

The incident occurred while a Buffalo SWAT officer was conducting routine surveillance as part of the parade’s security measures.

    A fucking SWAT team?

The Official Argue About Where Upstate NY Is Thread

now that's a bunch of bs if I ever heard it. a heavy gust of wind wouldn't blow a match barrel rifle off a roof [presumably with a parapet]. at least without the gust taking said sniper with it.

now if the scene of the incident was littered with empty uncle charlies...

... now back to the sad reality that even german engineering can't compete with upstate winters:

Good job. I mean.. It’s no tarpentry or tarpology but I don’t want to discourage you.

Don't forget the more 400-level "tarpitecture".

A hack with a blue tarp can make a roofer what a roofer ain’t.

This is a collective effort. You give knowledge in order to receive knowledge. The lessons I’ve learned from guyonabuffalo about the ins and outs of furnace replacement has certainly offset any of the negligible effort it took me to spread the knowledge that I gained

    fact.

Looks like I'll be back in the upstates end of April if anyone wants Dinosaur or something in da 'Cuse.
Actually, I could use help, I'm looking to rent a nice road bike, can't really find any stores that rent a real bike, either Mt. Or Road. I'll try and hit up some mechanics, but if any of you know anyone. Medium/54cm. Maybe $125 for a few days?

So not sure if this had anyone participate on April 1. Any rate it would have been a cold and probably wet outing this early in the spring:
