Hot dogs are in the same category as bologna and beer you can see through = gross. One of the locally made foods that I used to use as a bellwether for a region's culinary value was sausage but with this low cholesterol and low sodium diet I've had laid on me I lost that judging point. It sux

There really isn't all that much difference. The two areas even vote similarly.

Looks like this part of The Upstate is about to get soaked and washed away again tonight. I'm probably going to get another 2" of rain. Damn...

The Official Argue About Where Upstate NY Is Thread

Hot dogs are essential upstate fare. I’m partial to the Tail O’ The Pup but I think they’ve been pitching themselves as more of a BBQ place lately.

It's funny, I've been driving around Upstate for decades and see hot dog, ice cream, fried chicken and a few other quirky specialty stands and now trucks and never really gave it much thought about how iconic they are. I'm envisioning a blog post, waddaya think Harvey, NYSkiBlog worthy?

Fuck that it could be documentary worthy if you got good film and editing. Look at the barstool jackass. I disagree with that guy a lot on ratings, but he has made me hit a few spots I mightve missed.

    Tomato pie
100 year old hot dog joints
    Home of dinosaur bbq
    Chicken riggies
    Twin trees

    And that's just Syracuse.

Wings, and on and on. Seriously week long foodtv shit...

It’s kind of a big subject. Where to start? I think I wrote a sort of a love letter to UC a few years back but it didn’t get posted for some reason.

According to that map it looks like New York state ceded some ground to neighboring factions.

    Upstate revolution go untelevised?

I’m know I’m late on this, but I have to give credit here. I’m awarding this a full 10 points out of 10.

Looking at that map New York State has been reduced to the Finger Lakes region and the Upstate hordes have claimed the surrounding regions. Except for Long Island that is.
