This came up on my feed today via Condé Nast Traveller, via Thrillist (for shame Condé Nast):

    https://www.thrillist.com/travel/nat...AR0Q3OJjrasT4c

    Two things:

    A) I now know a bar in Saratoga Springs that I will never go to thanks to being the rumored birthplace of Don fucking Maclean’s American Pie, except for the sole purpose of laying a Cleveland Steamer in that very special booth; and

    B) Extra Thrillist-listicle points for saying the Miracle on Ice over the Cossacks at Lake Placid was for the Gold Medal.

Do we even know if these places are actually Upstate?

    FFS.
I still call it The Jake.

Since Philly came up, are there any spots to get a good cheesesteak in upstate NY?

Is the arbitrary drunken punching in Philly on par with that of Upstate?

That's the kind of question that will get you punched in the face in Philly.

Kudos to Philly for staying on-brand by pumping in boos for Eagles games during these COVID times when the birds are sucking ass, however I feel the random punching may be a bit out of step with the modern American metropolis that the wilds of Upstate NY may still possess.

Then again, Rick Moranis got sucker punched in Brooklyn last week so maybe all is not lost.

You’re missing the meat sauce. That ties the whole dish together.

Right? And no garbage plate I’ve had came pre-dressed with ketchup. The above may be subject to local flavor though.

So, what gross foods do you think of when you think of Eastern Maryland?
All I remember from balmer is Scrapple (which is more pensyltucky)

And that green gross shit in crabs.

Why for the love of Dog would you put ketchup and yellow mustard on that??? It's fine by itself. Although some horseradish sauce would be good too.
