BWAH. Looks like he's gunnin' the shit out of his diesel as well. He'll enjoy an extra day or two at the dock when he gets to the Lake while they unfuck his mast and rigging from this little adventure.

The triangle formed by Ithaca>Corning>Watkins Glen is an oasis of sorts. And yes, Saratoga also fills a similar niche.

My vote is that we don’t require bonafides here. Upstate is a welcoming, nonjudgmental space as long as nobody pulls that “it starts at I90” crap. On the other hand, if anyone feels the need to establish their connection to my glorious homeland, I’m willing to listen, especially if it includes some sordid 60s or 70s era upstate ski culture anecdotes. You know- fondue, shag carpet, hot tubs, that kind of stuff.

Can you have fondue while in a hot tub surrounded by shag carpet? I remember ads for some swingin' resorts in the Catskills back in the 70s that proved you can but it was better at the Mt Airy Lodge in Pennsyltucky.

Upstate resident for 60 years. Grandpa worked at Harmony Mills as a boy. Great great uncle served in Capt John Downing's Militia with 15 days of active duty at the Battle of Lake Champlain. So deep roots.
