I really think Portnoy is annoying and there is enough bad info about him out there to really not like him.
That said I've watched way too many of those reviews.
And I need to update my 'Cuse gear.

    This guy?
On "Varney & Co." Friday, Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy discussed what his next plans are after selling the remainder of the sports media platform’s stock for $387 million on Thursday.

Look, don’t get distracted by Portnoy.

That pizza place has been there over a hundred years and they’re only a few hundred miles from the corner of 242nd St and Broadway in the Bronx, where the best pizza on the planet is available to purchase seven days a week. By now, they should have figured out that the sauce goes on before the cheese. Is this some sort of extreme stubbornness or the result of typical upstate poor self image (as in “our pizza is never gonna stand up to the downstate pizza so we might as well cling to this local tradition”)? Pizza is not that hard to make if you have a good sense of what the end product is supposed to be. I made decent slices in the middle of Alaska for chrissakes.

Unless we’re talking tomato pie. No cheese.

    Do they have that upstates?

Or is it just RI and CT

PS. Can you legally sell pizza in NY if your name isn’t Ray?

The Official Argue About Where Upstate NY Is Thread

Do they have Tomato Pie in the Upstates? Was Coombs decent on steep pitches?

FWIW, our little local deli in Hermosa Beach swerved up a sauce sandwich, $1.25 for marinara sauce on a toasted french roll. Another buck you got cheese. It was perfect food for the surf rats. I guess it was the south bay's version of a tomato pie.

Mickey's was amazing. I miss their pies and meatball sandwiches. https://mickeysdeli.com/

I've got $10 on Algonquin Peak, from the trail to Marcy.
I've taken the same picture, from that same damn rock. However, I remember a cloud of mosquitos obscuring the view.
'Dak trails can be fucking brutal. This is the official route to Phelps Mtn (pic from 2007).

Those are some nice pics. Unfortunately I can't help to identify the peaks. I did both Marcy and Algonquin back in the day but every time I've been in that area it was either raining or engulfed in fog.

Pic was taken from Indian Falls which is on the route to Marcy. The peak in the clouds is indeed Algonquin.

Yesterday, grom #2 and I climbed Phelps and then up to Indian Falls. Was glorius. No bugs. 72 degrees. 11 miles and 3K of climbing. Jelly legs but we earned Mexican from Wyatt's in Placid for the car ride home. High Peaks is a freaking treasure.

this got me thinking, I wonder if we could use the typical dates of foliage change as a was to delineate the boundary line of the upstates. See below for a clip of the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xqb7sMjSFXQ&t=10s:

That map is totally fucked up. Syracuse is most definitely Central NY and not Finger Lakes.

    And neither is Rochester.

And where is Southern Tier on that map?

Musta been drawn by someone from Westchester County...
