Well, sure, but that's still a two part process. First remove the snow, then put on the rock salt / chemical melt. Might as well shovel at that point.
If you are just clearing ice, which was the original suggestion, then if you have to put down driveway heat in either case, just skip the flamethrower and drop the snowmelt chemicals. Also, it is probably worth mentioning that the chemical stuff only works down to like -20 degrees. That limit comes into play in the upstates.

I”d bet a flamethrower would end up being way more useful than any of us realize. I mean I went my whole life without a sawzall until I got one when I bought a home and now I use it constantly.

Made some Spiedies the other night. Used my Foodsaver to marinate. They were really good, but not as good as letting them marinate for days.

Recipe is pretty simple. Buy this:
Cube 3 lbs of chicken.
Put chicken and marinade in a bag for 2 days minimum.
Skewer and grill.
Take Spiedies off skewer with Italian Bread or sub roll.
Profit.

History of Spiedies:

Looks like Lupos is the OG, but Salamida brought it to the masses.
