    Hahaha

WTF is with this snow all morning? I was looking forward to some driveway glacier dissipating warmth and wetness but it's white.

Whiteface! Nice dude. Interesting lunch choice

Before I left the Upstate, I had a monster powder day there in mid April. 18-24" new, with most of the mountain empty. The Slides opened, and as a 19 year old who had only experienced Stratton and the WNY molehills, it was my first experience riding premier East expert terrain. What an awesome zone!

Yeah right! Way too many areas there you can't even ride dirt roads anymore. You used to be able to ride the 6.5 miles in to the base of Mt Marcy and stash the bike in the woods but they took that away a few years ago so that added at least a day to a summit hike. I did it from town to the top and back in one day but now you have to reserve and pay for the camping permit way in advance and they make you get it for 2 nights.

A buddy and I flagged down a guy in horse and wagon to haul us out from Camp Santanoni when our two wheel canoe cart busted on the way in. Sounds like a business opportunity to me.
A few people feel the rain. Most people just get wet.

Maybe, they've been having issues with the lift for over a month.

I only ever skied Song one time and I thought it was a cool place but those old Riblet lifts were actually my favorite part. Hopefully they don’t have too much trouble finding the parts to fix it.

I sure as fuck did! Proceeded to use my wife's blow drier for an hour until she came outside asking me if I knew where her hair drier was. Turns out her hair drier was brand new and nearly $100. I was stunned that a "quiet" (I just thought low output) hair drier was almost $100. Who knew?

I believe that guys business was hauling people and their gear inland out of Santanoni.

Yup, Hudson is pretty much the only place with a varied population in the county and it's working pretty well for them at the moment.
Yeah, but, bottom line, nobody goes there. Which is cool, I hate crowds, but, kinda weird how all these Westchester ladies build their Martha Stewart farm complexes up in a place that has zero dining options, but, I guess they like to cook. Essex up on Lake Champlain is another head scratcher. Beautiful place, ferry to Vermont, and, nothing. Washington county is the same. Beautiful farm country, but, nothing. There's a hotel/restaraunt in Cambridge that tried to be the only place around and changes hands every now and then, but is in a perpetual state of failure.

I'm not complaining, though. Minimal traffic and fresh paved roads makes for miles of roadie fun.
