I can see those rare Genesee pink tailed squirrels becoming as iconic as the black squirrels of Stanley Park in Vancouver.

Yeah, Binghamton is not the upstate/downstate dividing line.
And what would you then consider anyone south of binghampton? North? Tricky lines i tells ya.

You're confusing terms. North is a relative term. Upstate is a definitive term. Yonkers is north of Manhattan, but certainly not upstate.

I still believe there has been little clear consensus on the actual "upstate" designation lines. Unless I missed something. Where does Geneva or Syracuse fall?

    to paraphrase wiki something....

Upstate New York is a geographic region consisting of the portion of New York (State) lying north of the New York City metropolitan area.”

fairly definitive, so that should settle everything.

Fingers Lakes and Central NY in my book; I see those as sub regions within Upstate.

We remain in a heated debate if it's possible draw a line through the state, marking one side as "upstate" and one as "downstate". Just when I think we're getting closer, someone petitions to move the line 60+ miles.

That’s quite an effort painted tails!

My neighbor growing up had it down to a science, trap em, put em in a burlap sack , tie the sack on the tailpipe of his Vega. That thing ran incredibly fat on cold idle , didn’t take long off a cold start for the bag to go idle. His Vega was red.

Stay away from Cortland. I'm there right now. I just went to the Price Chopper. It was ugly. Literally.

One interesting thing about Homer is there are 8 old homes built like octagons.
I have been in one, very cool.
