Heh yeah that's who I was thinking of It was pretty cool. FWIW that guy had no filter, tough guy I'll take you out thing all the time. He was alright.

Yeah we have to bill the CT Hwy Dept for maintenance and if they're slow to pay we the people suffer. Try it when the plow drivers lift their blades 1" and the speed goes down to 2mph for an hour

It ain't Glen Campbell or even Glengarry Glen Ross.

It's Grimes Glen. Great hike this evening with my oldest gromette. It's a full on creek walk which felt good on a hot day.

Hmmm. A local. My daughter is touring that college this week. Should I tell her to run as far away as possible from the Upstates, or should I tell her to check out the falls (and the dog?)

Well, don't tell her to run just yet. That pic is from Cuyahoga Valley National Park in NE Ohio, the apparent kindred spirit of the Upstates, and the dog, well, he's resting comfortably under my feet here in ATL as we contemplate making a run for the mountains this weekend as the rest of the fam leaves us. Love this dog so much it hurts.

Love that area. Done a few bike races in that park and used to play Sleepy pretty frequently.
Lived closer to Chagrin though and road biked that valley almost every day for 10 years.
Tell your dog I said hi.

Alright, I’m less confused now. I knew you were an Ohio kid. But there’s a park near Ithaca that looks exactly like that. Hence confusion.

Reading comprehension is fundamental they tell me. I should work on that.

Ha! Small world. Yeah, that Valley is pretty special to me. I grew up in Hudson on the other side but now much of my family is in Chagrin Falls, which as you point out is another gorgeous valley.

    The pup says hi back.

No worries, it’s crazy how similar a lot of the topography through the lower Great Lakes region is. Funny how similar these falls are though.

Can we agree that the Mohawk River is upstate? Especially since it’s part of the Barge Canal.

Had to have my daughter take a pic as we cruised down along 87 and came across a Carvel at a rest stop! Had to sheepishly explain I needed the photo to share with a bunch of dudes on the interwebz. Shockingly they just took it without giving me much shit!
