Hmmm, that's a thought. When I lived in Saratoga, I would drive down here every now and then, and start seeing really nice, expensive cars everywhere, again. Don't see that upstate.

But, not BMW. Get with it. Tesla.

Rednecks, weird vibes, and zombies is part of what defines upstate.

This kinda goes to the where is Appalachia discussion cause if you're finding the same kind of southern (southeastern) Ohio rednecks in the Upstate then maybe we just go with the zombie definition. That kind of state of mind covers at least 13 states by my estimation.

See a zombie looking person? You might be Upstate.

Key-rist! It's abundant clear that we'll NEVER get to writing about the dive bars of Upstate at this rate.

Right, but while there is overlap, each region has it's local flavor. Upstate NY clearly has certain things that combined with everything else, defines it. I mean VT has some similar things, but it isn't 'Upstate'. Despite what others have said, it does have pockets of Appalachia throughout.

I think I'm familiar enough with both VT and Upstate NY that if you showed me a random picture I could identify the state.

Covered that in post #129. Erie is dismal AF (which checks out), but is otherwise the prior home of my smokin hot high school fuck mate who attended Mercyhurst and therefore is NOT Upstate.

And it’s a thin buffer between the Upstate and the raiding hordes from NE Ohio on their way to Chautauqua, Eville and cheap Seneca gas and smokes.

It’s also the last Chick Fil A for like an entire state.

Nope. We've covered this too. Upstate's western boarder occurs around Rochester. The exact demarcation is up in the air. I believe it to be when the word soda gives way to the word pop and I'm standing by that definition.

I’m guessing since the bike one is entitled Bike Trails In NY that one is upstate. But that’s just a guess.

If a town upstate, wherever that is, gets a chick fil a, are they disqualified?
