Ok, kids, this was fun. Just for shits and giggles, I googled my own name just to see what came up. The only thing that was remotely interesting was this picture on eBay. It is me in 1987, in Thornden Park, snowboarding the sledding hill. It was for the Syracuse Paper, and they took down my name.

Cool photo. What kind of boots were you wearing? I’m assuming workboots… or maybe Sorels if you had a bit of money. No such thing as snowboard specific boots back then.

Sorels with duct taped Lange Liners. That was cutting edge! That was my setup when I spent that spring season at Winter Park. It was...not optimal in the bumps...

High class!! I tried several times to convert to snowboarding, but my timberlands just didn’t cut it. Too cold/wet and no padding was not pleasant.

There should be an old school snowboarder thread on the forum.
There’s probably even more cool memories out there.

    Awesome photo.

Well shit, you were WAY cooler then.

And there was no coconut Lacroix in the photo either, which is an improvement.

This is what happens when you don't use blue tarps properly.

Damn that's pretty sharp at a pretty reasonable price. BUT there ain't shit there so you're spending some time traveling for pretty much everything.

Buy it and bring moe.down back to the estate.

Also, they capitalized moe, which is annoying.

Where are you headed? Take some pics. Also, have you ever heard of Carrol’s Hamburgers? I think they were before my time.

NYSB has delivered some good upstate intel I think.

Planting a seed here…looks like I will be in Da ‘Cuse November 17-21 or thereabouts. Any interest in an upstate mini-summit?
Wings, riggies, speedies, Utica Greens, Utica beer…maybe it should be in Utica?

Blast from the past. Never knew they were Syracuse based. When I was a wee lad we had a Carrols in Rutland.

I'm on a cross country family RV trip with the wife and kids.
Currently in Woodstock visiting a friend.
    Cute town.
Heading to see my family on the east end of the island today. The end goal of the trip.
Week out there, then meander back to Truckee.

Lots of beautiful country out there.

Of course it should be in Utica. Peak Upstates.

And at one point I was actually scheduled to be in the general area then. Looks less likely now but you never know.
