Enjoy the last of the Koffee Kup Bakery rolls. History. I bought Koffee Kup hamburger buns today without thinking about it until I was cooking dinner. The latest they were made was Monday... They were just ever so slightly not fresh. And we enjoyed them. Sigh. Riverside Ave will never be the same.

You know, they were a little stale. Now I know why. That’s too bad, I always did like their products.

one can only hope that important answers will be soon forthcoming.
Yeah, easy to read at 50mph. Especially for the target market.

Cross cultural product. Made in VT. Enjoyed in Upstate. And beyond. I was however, not a huge fan of their 'VT Bread Company' products. If I am not in the mood for Koffee Kup, then I want something a lot better, not just sorta better.

Any maple mustard fans? It's a southern tier / WNY thing. Turkey + Arugula + Maple Mustard sandwiches for the win.

Got in a third trip in the new kayak with Junior today. I think of Cold Spring as upstate but I guess some folks might disagree.

The pics make it look like a nice day but, even though the sun was out, the river was angry today. There was a nasty wind and the related chop trying to push us back south but we persevered. Good day. Zoom in on the far shore in this last one and you’ll see a mile long bomb train headed south. The east shore has an Amtrak/Metro North track.

It’s nice getting out this time of year cause there’s a lot less traffic on the Hudson.

Cold Spring is full of Manhattan trash off the trains all weekend to hike that mountain, so, no, not upstate.

Cold Spring - big rocks, not little rocks, stick out of the ground = Upstate

The Hudson is a fascinating piece of water to me. The few times I've been up and down it I was always amazed at how powerful it seems. Strong current, strong winds, always rough (at least when I've been on it), and can be pretty inhospitable if you're not careful.

It's a very Upstate kind of river.
I still call it The Jake.

The source of the Hudson is a pretty special place.
My last trip there we climbed Colden, Cliff, Gray and Marcy. You could have cut the fog with a knife.

That’s an accurate description of the parts I spend most of my time on. We timed the trip to take advantage of high tide but the wind completely neutralized my strategy. Even though the tide was going in the direction I wanted, the wind was pushing the top foot or so of water in a completely different direction and of course kicked up a bunch of two foot waves. It keeps it interesting.

Bringing my girls up there mid-June. We've gotta decide what to climb on this trip. Marcy is a stretch for their patience/fitness.

Cascade, Wright and Big Slide are great short -> medium hikes.
For overnight, Avalanche Pass + Colden is a personal favorite.

take your kids for a float. June is an excellent time for river running. floating the Hudson is a lot easier than climbing any of those mountains....

unfortunately, no beer allowed on them commercial trips...

I remember on a trip to the ‘Daks as a kid, I asked my dad where we were headed. He looked out the car window to the Hudson and said, “where we can hop across that river on rocks.”

I don’t know man. The tides go all the way to Green Island. And that place is upstate as fuck.
    Great pics though.

Best bang for the buck is Phelps. Great views, you get to go in via Marcy Dam (minus Dam). Great 270 degree views and never crowded on top.

Cascade is a nice short hike but is usually packed on weekend days.

Those fridges never get cold enough. You need to make about four or five trips to the ice machine so you have enough to fill the sink
