Thing is, doesn’t really matter whether yer a damn fan or not. It’s still gonna be sittin’ there, on the counter, right near the lottery machine, on the other side of the cash register, every fucking day…
you know somebody’s buying that shit… lotsa somebody’s, apparently… there’s a whole tomato pie economy going on behind the scenes. Big players be making power moves in the tomato pie market on the daily.
you don’t even know what you don’t know.

they’ve done a pretty good job on renovating this place. The bar has very good food.

Quoted for truth.
Overheard this a few months ago: It's sort of an unwritten deli/convenience store's marker of street cred among the demographic of the upstate population that frequents these store fronts, as to what local brand of tomato pie they sell. Another important marker, does the store carry $20/25 scratch offs.“The best argument in favour of a 90% tax rate on the rich is a five-minute chat with the average rich person.”
- Winston Churchill, paraphrased.

I've had one. Not too bad. You're still better off finding a local italian deli and getting one over the counter.

I’m pretty sure I drove past some place with Utica Pie in its name over in Westchester recently. Arming maybe- not sure. Weird seeing it so far downstate.

I’ll defend Detroit style pizza. It’s nothing at all like Chicago style, which I like as well.
I’ll take a Jet’s pie with pepperoni, sausage, mushroom, onion and green olives any day of the week. I just won’t eat for the rest of the week afterwards.I still call it The Jake.

The hat is pretty tempting at $15. The socks too. I wonder if they throw a couple stickers in when they ship it. That would close the deal for me. Can you report back?

If I saw one of those hats walking around out here I don't know if I'd think, hey, and upstater, or hey, I wonder if that is the heir to the Stewart's family.

Looks like this year's Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree is decidedly Upstates.
It was harvested in Queensbury.
Not Maryland where there's no Stewart's.Last edited by BmillsSkier; 11-30-2022 at 09:06 PM.

That’s nice. It always pisses me off when they get it from out of state. Well, “pisses me off “ may be overstating it. When I hear it came from someplace else, I probably think “did they run out trees in New York?” and then forget about it. Still, go Queensbury!
