People that haven't lived in the bands may not comprehend that they are narrow and focused and totally dependent on the wind. I've been hearing that Snow Ridge got skunked on this one and Holiday Valley scored less than a foot.

Ontario‘s been pumping pretty hard but it’s been staying mostly up in Watertown. They’ve gotten about 60 inches so far and still going hard… Dry Hill gunna be fire yo!

we’ve been dry all day though. we got some steady snows droppin’ now, but the real sweet band is supposed to start the swing down from watertown tomorrow. we’re expecting to get another two feet or so.

we’ve gotten way more here at Woods Valley then Snow Ridge got fer sure. about a foot and a half to 2 feet on the ground here. and we’re adding too it as fast as we can.

The Official Argue About Where Upstate NY Is Thread

Right on Woods Valley! Getting the goods early. Good shit. I consider that a home mountain and always will.

You know your stadium got a lot of snow when you can no longer make out seat rows.

I guess I could look at all this and feel cold, or PTSD, or remember hours upon hours of shoveling, but all I can think is:

    “Goddamn, I love snow.”

    Bring it on!!

I need a live view of the snow removal at the Bill's stadium and parking lot. That's got to be insane.

Love the lock and dock stoke m27!

Fuck yeah it looks cold up there. There was a time when I was (stupidly) walking along (as best as possible) the frozen shoreline of Erie in the dead of February and that shit looked like some kind of frozen moonscape from a Star Wars movie in every direction; very easy to get turned around among the giant blocks of ice, snow and flat light. Realizing it was a shifting landscape hastened our exit back to solid ground.

There's a lot to unpack here, but I always felt the Rutland vibe was very Upstate-ish.

My BIL grew up in Rutland.

He hit a deer and totaled his car just after high school so he joined the Marines the next day as it was the only way out at that point, and he never went back. It's a pretty good story after he's had 8 beers.

He says it's a good place to be from.

have lots of memories of this town it has a special place in my heart spent many nights obliterated there but these days walking along the river sitting by the "ocean" and taking in what is one of Americas biggest dead end towns that has been getting slowly gentrified since the college is there it's a pretty cool place

don't get me wrong it isn't getting that gentrified if any of you want to experience real america hit up harbor fest in the dead of summer
but my friends who did buy their house for 42k which is a really nice house with a huge city lot are now complaining because houses now cost over 100k
