    New MTB recos?

Been out of the game a while with young kids. My five your old is nuts about biking so I finally have more reasons to get out.
Been mountain biking nearly 30 years, still pleasantly mediocre.
Current ride is an OG Ibis mojo and a single speed explosif I built up a few years back.
I love how the explosif rides and less enthused on the mojo these days.
Looking to replace the mojo with a 29/27.5 full squish rig for rooty/rocky new England.
I don't get that rad, so unbeatable high speed gnar handling is not a requirementb(especially as the gbar trails are 40ish minutes away vs out my front door). Better low-medium speed handling.
I would like it to pedal decently and not have any crazy maintenance needs.
    TLDR
    New bike
Full suspension (likely 140 or less)
    New England terrain
    Long torso, short legs
    I am not rad
    Budget: not 10k
Bikes I've liked: latest explosif/honzo, og mojo
    Bikes I haven't: FSRs, RIP9

    Current thoughts:
    New mojo or Ripley?
    That new druid thing?

    Thanks all!

Heckling encouraged. Schralp and others can attest to how slow I am.

If your budget is under $10k, then you have about 25 legit options to choose from these days. Are you going to buy from a local shop? If so, that might help narrow down the available brands. If you're going to buy something lightly used, then the world is your oyster.

Personally if I was looking at a trail 29er I'd check out the Pivot 429, Revel Rascal, Guerrilla Gravity Trail Pistol, Ibis Ripley, Spot Mayhem, and the SC Tallboy (although I wasn't personally a fan).

If I lived back east I would probably have a Rocky Mountain Instinct (not BC), but I am biased due to...reasons.

I’ll say: Pivot Switchblade...bc it’s 142mm and you can get AXS for under $10K....but you won’t get “live valve.”🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️

It makes perfect sense...until you think about it.

I suspect there's logic behind the madness, but I'm too dumb to see it.

Those were some I had seen mentioned, just wanted to see if I was missing anything.
Never been a huge fan of the SC bikes. They're fine, just kinda plain vanilla riding IMO.

Red is the bestest color but I sold the bike yesterday so it's no longer on the market.

Ibis Ripley is perfect for just about everything around here. Climbs wonderful, enough suspension. Just makes me forget about what I’m riding and just have fun.

Even though I haven't ridden any of them I'd go with a short travel 29r, the latest versions seem to have the best geo. Smmokan's list is pretty comprehensive.

The YT Izzo is intriguing too, haven't heard much feedback on it yet other than magazine/blog reviews

you should drive them all sticking to whichever brand is close enough to you to do a good test ride and see which you like

I got one buddy who was set on Ibis, but next time I see him its on a new santa cruz, he said the Ibis didnt speak to him

he is a good rider and the ibis is a good bike but they didnt gel

    or get the red one

Yep, place near me has ripmo demos and I'm a total Ibis homer, just was struck as I got on the mojo that I'm much more on top of it versus "in" the explosif. Though I imagine a huge part of it is the fact my mojo is 12 years old and about 3 gens behind geo wise.
