Posting satire, especially really poorly executed satire, in the padded room is the exact opposite of a test.

But 2020 is a test. It's inherently political and it bleeds into everything. It leaves the mod team with a choice to either completely ramp up moderation or stay the less moderated course. There will people on either side of that argument on this forum, but we start from a default "less moderation" position and then work out from there. And as you work out from there, you run into real world issues and even greater opportunities for the collective to whine.

Real world issues: SFB once told Danno to "own his job." Danno "owns" nothing and this isn't a "job." Those terms require some sort of consideration, some sort of exchange. The only thing Danno gets for his efforts, as the person who is in the trenches here the most out of all of us, is a ration of bullshit. We are all adults so we can put up with it just fine, but the sense of entitlement should probably be called out.

Greater opportunities to whine: Ok, so we leave aside the (wo)man power issue and the fact that we all have jobs and lives and try to clean up the more obvious stuff when we see it or its called to our attention. We now have more time to make sure SFB and Timberridge feel safe from 2020 on a ski message board that has very easy to find titties, cars and TRs. The mods start picking and choosing which posts and threads are too political in an inherently politically charged year, where most everything could have political implications. Where do you think that leads?

We should be able to talk about pandemics and racism and stupid spandex wearing bicyclists and know that there will be some politics but that at the end of the day this shit is going down, there is a human element that deserves discussion without relegation to the cesspool of Poli Ass. The topics in question are pretty well contained in their own obvious threads.

There isnt a great answer to any of this, so we err on the side of asking you to toughen the fuck up.
