Also went and rewatched the Gwinn at msa after a couple mentions in here. Sooo many inside lines trying to stay on the grass. Improv at high speed. Needs to be in this catch all of awesome thread

Fucking kids these days! Herbold, '90, Purgatory. The one who started it all, but sadly pre-iphone and almost pre-internet so not much footage.

Grabbed a pair of brahma bars after seeing his secret weapon in that race, no worries about hooking your bar-ends with those bad boys, plus it adds like 5mph, guaranteed!

edit to add: It was Tomac or Overend who had the brahma bars in the XC, not Herbold. Either way they should still make those bars. Bar ends and the ghetto aero-option as well, all in one bar, whats not to love!

I think all the best runs have been covered. For me it’s Sam at VDS, the speed he is going looks as fast as the guys are going today on 29ers that must be half a foot longer. Just mental speed how fast and confident he hits that last rock section.

Amaury Les Gets is sublime as well. Love watching him ride at his limit.

I've never seen the POV of that run before. The way he airs and skips through the straights, you think he's pointed off track but lands perfectly outside setup for the following corner.

I loved the original Valpo course that had them go through what looked like a second story apartment and out the balcony window.

I was at that champery wc. Miserable day but amazing to see how in control the riders were. My friends and i walked the course down during the race, was near the bottom at the end. My legs were more sore the next day than any mtb day.
