One could argue it's too soon, as there's yet no justice for the statue to represent. And where would it go? Next to Lincoln? Not sure Kaepernick's that level national figure (could yet become that). Levi Stadium certainly a possibility, but seems too local, and the NFL doesn't represent racial justice. Junipero Serra's spot overlooking the valley might be appropriate prominence, trouble is Silicon Valley is a product of black marginalization, especially on that side where the VC's are. We'd have to fix the valley first, or see the statue as a dream for the future.

Do we need a white guy next to Kaepernick? Maybe the appropriate symbolism is Goodell sticking a knife in his back. Perhaps next to Lincoln after all. Not sure we could withstand the shame, though it might be good for us.
