Something occured to me on my local road ride. It's pretty lush here, landscaping wise. My garden looks pretty awesome, and everywhere else is pretty damn green. I know that we've had almost the perfect amount of rain for that, but, I wonder if the fact that air pollution around here (NY metro) is way down is a factor. The normally brilliant blue sky early summer days are very bluebird this year.

We had the longest stick season in many years and understory growth was really amazing early in the season. Once everything started to pop at the beginning of May it was off to the races because we were into the long day part of the season. I know that my garden is weeks ahead of normal even though nothing even went out until 3-4 weeks ago. The good air had to have had a positive effect too.

Well, just a reference point, although, in a pinch, I like chipotle. There's really good beans and rice places in West New York and west Manhattan I use as a higher bar.

Baja Fresh kicks Chipotle's ass up down and sideways. Most awesome salsa bar ever.

Be that as it may, the food at Baja Fresh is far superior to Chipotle's overcooked, dry meat, lame af salsa that they don't even give you enough of, and downright gross atmosphere that got a lot of people sick even before covid. Fuck that place. I'll never eat there again.

Benny's perfecting the homemade pocket meat. No more buffet for him!

Keep in mind you're discussing Mexican food with folks on the East Coast. We're spoiled in California.

Maybe not on the same level as NY / NJ, but yes we do.

Looked it up and there's actually more Cubans in CA than NY. Definitely way less from PR, however.

New toy. I challenged the 15yo to assemble it up because I was busy and he was chomping at the bit. He got frustrated a few times, lost ta washer, overtightened some things, and watched a lot of YouTube to figure out how to overcome some issues. In the end, he did it and feels better than if I did it, even though there was some yelling and screaming.

Bought myself a 4wd RC car. Forgot how fun these are. Thing rips at like 25-30mph and crawls up boulders and shit.

Best part is playing with it on the street and all the little neighborhood kids beg to get a turn and I tell them to shut the hell up and get your own dam toy. Click image for larger version.

Well done. Reminds me I need to order some more PLA. That white tube there kinda sucks with PETG.

ETA: PM me if you need a filament guide.

    Pickup groceries are pretty nice.

Discovering the less used trails at my favorite local park, and some crosscountry routes to connect them.

Getting to said park in 20 minutes instead of an hour b/c the other f***ers are at home.

Finally started a garden. Proud of not killing it yet.

Found some other nice trails at another park, when the nursery I wanted to buy tomatoes had hour long COVID lines to get in. Hiking was way better than standing in line. Will be returning there.

Cooked some awesome french toast. No milk so subbed honey vanilla yogurt. Adds a nice tang to contrast the maple syrup

Mine goes the other way. Got it running, now I'm setting it up for better part holding. After that I'm sure I'll need to tune and adjust it again so everything's squared upClick image for larger version.
