Yeah he only saved the US economy, expanded health insurance to 20 million people and actually competently delt with disasters (remember Deep-water Horizon.) Sure he didn't end poverty, and there's plenty to nit pick about, but dude was a great freaking president.

Deep Water Horizon maybe wouldn't have happened if he wasn't all gung ho on US energy independence.

And 20 million Americans were basically forced to buy expensive insurance for expensive, iffy medical care. Makes me want to spit when Democrats hold that godawful Republican written bill as some sort of great accomplishment.

Last night the local news stood in the parking lot of a Tri-cities grocery store and asked people how they they felt about the dawn of a new presidential era.

3 out of 4 people expressed abject terror and feared for their safety from all the illegals and muslims Biden will be unleashing on them and of course..... socialism. One wondered how she would survive the next 4 years until Trump could be reelected.

Saying they should codify nationally vote by mail does not imply the Biden administration is a failure. It does imply I would do the vote by mail thing prior to the amnesty thing, but that is just my opinion.

I'm pretty sure the "vote by mail thing" is a *state* responsibility, not a fed responsibility.

I think I'm partially to blame for why you're getting so much push back. My only point to you was that you were incorrect when you said that the approaches that states took for voting under pandemic conditions did not go through their state legislatures. They did and rest assured it was on the up and up. As GM pointed out, confirmed by over 60 court cases much to the dismay of some.

And I'm saying a lot of those moves were temporary pandemic stuff that should be made permanent.

All you have to do is look back to Obama's first term to see that time is limited and you need to pick and choose which battles you want to fight in terms of legislation to pass, and he had supermajorities. Two years later that flipped he was basically a lame duck for 6 years and had passed what, a stimulus package and obamacare?

No doubt, but mail in voting is a state issue, not federal government issue. Unless you think Biden has the political cache to get an amendment to the US Constitution ratified. That seems like a big lift to me, especially seeing as how a good chunk of the opposition still thinks Trump won the election.

I hope he concentrates on getting a plan in place to get vaccines in arms. There is literally nothing more important right now.

As PNW pointed out, Congress can do some work on this matter themselves. I just think it would be a good effort and, in effect, give them a longer window to pass legislation (for as we all know vote by mail would increase turnout and DEM representation ultimately).

That being said, I do agree, vaccine distribution (and other corona virus relief) is the actual priority number 1 and Biden should get the states to hurry the fuck up. From what I can tell, it isn't so much the feds holding up distribution but states. It has been pretty maddening to see pretty much across the country, from here in Wyoming to California, its been a pretty equal fuck up on the states end with distribution.
